Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

    Absolutely awful

I'm returning it in the morning. To start it's incompatible with the os on all but one of my computers. Further on the one computer that would install the software, it incorrectly detected settings. Customer support, while assuring me they were going to walk me through it, repeatedly made me call my ISP to verify information I had already given them. They apparently had a script to read from and if what happened wasn't on their script, they didn't know what to do.

    Horrible, horrible wireless router

I have alot of hardware experience. This router is horrible. When it is connected and stable, the speed is awesome. The problem is that if you are more than 15-20 feet away from the router, your transfer rate drops drastically. Keeping the wireless connection for more than 15-20 minutes is almost impossible. I am very capable and have alot of experience with networks and network architecture. Trust me when I say, this router is horrible. Esp. for the price.

    Didn't work for me.

After reading the glowing reviews for this product, I decided to replace my Linksys router with the Netgear. Set-up was extremely easy but now I find I'm having to reboot several times a day to maintain a connection. I'm definitely returning this router and will probably go back to Linksys. At least I didn't have to reboot as often with that one.

    You've Got to be Kidding

I thought that since this is a two story router that it would actually work. I guess that I was wrong. It was very easy to set up, but if you think this thing went anywhere fast you better think again. It would load easy pages, like google, wikipedia, Ect. But when it came to running Youtube, it was way out of its league. It gave me a five bar connection up stairs and still went slow. Even when I was right by the router it went slow. It wasn't my connection because I plugged my brand new Gateway laptop into the modem directly, and the internet ran great.

Product losses WiFi Signal every 24hrs

The N300 WNR2000 looses its WiFi signal every day. Power cycling the device fits the problem, but this is an inconveince. The wired connection works fine and the device's LEDs indicate the the WiFi is working but none of my three laptops see the devices signal (although I see the WiFi signal from my neighbors#. I initially returned the first WNR2000 and the second one I got has the same problem. The netgear support site #support.netgear.com) is extremely slow. So, diagnosing the problem may take some time if you decide to.

    Horrible Router

i picked this up on recommendation from a store worker as my wireless-g router was a few years old and going out on me from time to time. new desktop is wireless-n and i wanted to upgrade. installation was long and tedious and way more difficult than my last. after that, my new desktop ran at speeds at or below dial-up while my three year old laptop flew on the internet. called their IT for help... what a waste of time. three times i called for a total of three hours. each person was more rude than the last and new less than the person before them. all they wanted to do was blame my computer and get me off the phone. i returned it thinking i got the bad egg in the group... wrong again. same thing. the IT says that since was was running a wireless-g and wireless-n that it was slowing me down. the worst part is is that that's what this product is meant to do. i even took my desktop in to make sure it wasn't me and it wasn't. i took this terrible product back and asked a geek squad guy what he would recommend and he pointed me to Linksys as they use it in the store. i could not be happier with it. and yes, the stand did install quite easily. stay away from this... stay far away.

No bridging functionality... (which I needed)

    Posted .

I have purchased Netgear routers in the past, and they supported bridging funcionality. I reviewed the box, and it did not state it would bridge, but did not say it would not either. I needed bridging functionality for my installation. I tried to set it up but could not find the settings, called support and they told me it did not bridge. I had to buy the slower N150 to get the bridging functionality I needed. I would recommend this if you don't need bridging, but would not if that is what you need.

I bought 2 of this, one for my house and another for my office. Both are a piece of junk, it downs the speed from 30mbps to 3 or 4., and the worst part is that I need to restart it from time to time because it just drops the internet connection. Im incredibly disappointed with this product.

    Easy set up but unreliable

I work on computers and require a reliable internet connection. This product was alright at first and had fast speeds, but it began to drop the connection randomly during usage. I would have to restart the router up to once an hour. Reading forums made me think that I may have just gotten a dud. Wish I'd realized sooner, but don't have the box and wouldn't be able to easily find the receipt.

I couldn't even install the product without calling tech support.THEN, because I had continued difficulties they wanted to charge me and I hadn't even had the product 1 full day! No one spoke English well and I am so glad that I returned it. Will not even consider another Netgear product!

    Don't waste the money

I bought this router and had great luck with it for about 4 months. One day I just had no wireless connectivity. I read the instructions, went online and tried to find resolution and ended up downloading a flash program to reprogram the router. I contacted netgear and they were helpful but ended up sending me another router to replace this defective router. So, fast forward another 4 months and I have the same issue with the router. I've changed plugs, I've changed powercords, you name it. I'm trashing the thing and getting another brand. Didn't even make it a whole year with this purchase. Would definitely not recommend.

I bought the Netgear 60 today to use for my new Nook tablet. With the help of 3 Optimum tech people, we tried every possible option. No dice. My tablet would connect but then the connection was dropped in seconds. I finally called Netgear only to be told I would have to pay $129 for their help-for a product I bought today! What unbelievable nerve! Back it goes.

I have literally had nothing but problems with this thing. I had to keep redoing the settings anytime my friends would come over so they could connect. Then i call to get support to get it working and in the end it was my friend that got the connection stable. Try something else.

I'm going to return this router. It either drops the internet signal or the wireless network disappears entirely, requiring a reset of the router. Also the cable supplied with it was bad. I spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with my modem, then I switched cables. No problem.

Looks real nice on the computer table with the "pretty lights" and instructions were clear for an intermediate user. Unfortunately, it only works part of the time. The netword consistantly "fails" several times a day to the point where it is undependable for use in stock trading where you need quick access. Then you have to "repair the connection" and/or repair and reboot. Just a hassle. I went back to direct connection and scrapped this thing.
