Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

I would not recommend this product

The product constantly drops ready. When I called customer support the response was totally unsatisfactory. The "solution" is to unplug it for 30 seconds then plug it back in. I need to do this a couple of times a day. I think all that is necessay is to add a password but customer support goes off on an unrelated tangent. Netgear will not get any more of my business -- ever.

    junk

After working 2 hours to set this up I thought I had done something wrong and it turns out it was broken. Returned to the store and got the last one off the shelf and had the same issue all over again. So I went elsewhere and purchased a different brand all together and had no problems what so ever. So basically two NetGears from the shelves of Best Buy were broken pieces of junk. I will just continue to buy elsewhere as it seems to be best.

    Must pay for tech service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need to ask questions they will not help you unless you pay $99 for that service. All tech service is in India.. They will try and try to sign and charge you for any help. $100 to ask questions for a $50 product.. If you don't want to pay they will get you off the phone very quickly.

Signal Dropper, Avoid At All Cost

    Posted .

This thing is garbage. It loses signal every 2 weeks. I have to power down, then power up every 2 weeks. My parents bought the same router, and the same thing happens to them. My friend bought a Netgear Router Extender. It looks similar to this one. And it too drops signal every 2 weeks. I consider myself to be fairly tech savvy. I am not a hacker, but I can navigate the ins and outs of a router pretty well. AVOID at all cost.

    Worthless Trash

Had it for a while, started using more wireless devices with it. I have to reboot the router twice in a row every 4-7 days. Also, the web interface software this thing uses is inexcusably slow.

    One of the worst routers

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Worst router ever. I used it for a couple of days with no success. Tech support could not help. Each new person at their tech support started with the same test process instead of reading the notes describing that the process was already done. They have recommended that I buy more equipment to make the router work. The router died in a few days. I did not ask for a replacement. Instead, I went back to my original Netgear G router.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The setup is difficult and error prone. After some miracle you manage to get it to connect to the Internet, the USB feature is unstable and any drive connected to it disappears frequently. I won't be buying another Netgear router EVER. This this is a flat out piece of trash.

It was recommended by the Internet installer

This product needs to be reset daily in order for it to allow us to connect to the internet via wifi. I have called the company for tech support and they walked me through a one hour troubleshoot, on two occaisions however the product did not work any bettter the next time I logged on. It needs to be reset daily and we lose our connection when using it several times a day. I do not recommend this product.

    Extremely Difficult To Set Up!

I found this router to be extremely difficult to configure. Documentation was virtually non-existant. The instructions are to just insert the CD provided and follow the directions. It just doesn't work and you have absolutely, positively no Idea if the setup was successfull or not. It just leaves you hanging. The instructions for upgrading the firmware is also vague. I would not recommend this product! Buy a Linksys!

    Don't Bother with Netgear

    Posted .

This router lasted a year -- then stopped. Even though it has a "lifetime warranty" that means nothing. Just ask their technical support. The lifetime warranty is for hardware failure - according to their tech support somewhere in India "it will never be a hardware failure" - so take that the way it is intended. Netgear leaves a lot to be desired as far as reliability and customer support.

Bought 2 units first had dropouts, second also same problem. Customer service was totally useless and would never resolve the problem without more cost to us. Both units were professionally installed.

    Nothing but trouble.

I purchsed both the router and adapter. The router's signal was weak and Windows 7 did not recognize the adapter using the software on the CD supplied with the purchase. Netgear provided another version of the software which improved margainally. After almost hourly resetting the router, I gave up and used my old rounter and adaper. No problems since.

    Died in 1 week

I know them routers eventually die in about a year or 2. I have a D-link router that did great for over 4 years. Once it kicked the bucket, I bought this cheap $49 one. I should've known from all the refurbished routers on sale. Here comes another lemon. I have to hard restart it daily after long online sessions. Summary is, I am returning it manana.

    Not so much

I got this set up relatively easily but the thing keeps dropping the internet piece. I thought it was just me but I see someone else had the same issue. I find that if I disconnect the internet cord from the router and then reconnect it, it seems to work for a few hours. I'm going to have to work with this as it has been past the 14 days. Sigh...

The installation is relatively easy but the instructions are extremely vague. The only real problem that i had with it was after about six months. The wifi on it stoped working not allowing me to connect to it. it worked fine until now so if you want a router that will work for six months buy this but I wish I had bought something else.
