it was an ok mario game. grabbing gold coins all the time gets tiring after a while.

Worst 2D Mario I’ve played. It’s not that bad but when compared to the way better games you can get on the 3DS... it’s a hard pass.

This game is a bit on the easy side. But still very fun. I recommend it for any one that has 5 hours.

This Mario game looks and sounds great! It's the best in the portable series so far! Gameplay is very responsive and smooth. 3D effect is very weak, hardly there. Story line is average and game is easier than past Mario games. It would be a good game for a first time Mario player or small kids. If you die too many times on a level, you will be offered the white Tanooki suit. If you use this suit, you will not die (unless you fall off a pit or on lava or purple water) and you can finish the level. Coin collecting is not as fun as in past games since coins are everywhere! You will have multiple extra lives very quickly due to all the coins. Coin rush mode is new to the series and very fun! You will have to run thru previously played levels before timer runs out and get as many coins as possible! You can also play with a buddy every level of the game but both of you will have to have your own copy of the game. If you are a Mario fan already you should definetly not miss out on this game! If you are a first time player to the series, borrow your buddy's game copy and try it out before you decide to buy.

If you have to decide which Mario game you want to buy, this is a pretty solid choice. If you already own the rest and want to know if this one is up to par, it is. It's the classic side scrolling fun Mario games are famous for with new power ups and great levels. A great choice for anyone!

I love all the Mario games. This game was no exception. The graphics and gameplay are superb just as expected from any Nintendo game. Love it!!!

It's a good game if you like 2D Mario. Levels are well designed as usual and it's a lot of fun to play. However, it doesn't really do anything we haven't seen before so if you're looking for something new this probably isn't the game for you.

Great game! My daughter is addicted to this as we were the first version. A wonderful classic.

This game is great. So great it was worth buying a second copy so my wife and I could play co-op with eachother. Mario never get's old, and the coin theme is a fun change of pace. Game play is just like the New Super Mario game for the Wii, but on the 3ds.

Really fun game! Great sequel from the first game, main purpose of the game is to collect many gold coins as possible while trying to save princess peach.

I love the retro game play feel this title offers, it brings me back to the day of playing Mario 3 on the NES, only with a huge leap forward in the graphics department. The name of the game is gold coins, they are everywhere in this game and it's your job to collect them all! Wish there were more levels, but there's lots of replay value here going back and trying to collect even more coins each level.

This is an excellent 2D mario side scrolling game. It would be an excellent choice for any age gamer, especially those under 7 years old because it doesn't rely on the 3D to be turned on.

If you enjoy the simple aspects of the original Super Mario Brothers games, but want something more updated with a few new concepts, this is a great game. If you are looking for mind blowing graphics and intricate gameplay, go with another franchise. Personally, I enjoy this better than the Mario Galaxy games.

Its a great Mario brother game. I really wanted this game after playing Mario 3d Land. If you like New Super Mario bros Wii, your going to like this game. Great Mario game for my collection. Any time you buy a Nintendo first party game. Your getting high quality gaming.

New Super Mario Bros 2 is more of the same. Not really much has changed since New Super Mario Bros 1. The only real difference is the coin collecting. You may find yourself playing this game unlike other Mario Bros games. You will be slowing down to collect as many coins as possible, unlike past Super Mario Bros games, where coins were an afterthought because the main objective was to get to the end of the level without dying. After you complete the game, (should only take around 5-7 hours to finish the main story) you can play as Luigi by holding down L & R when selecting your game file. The game has good replay value because their is the Star World, which appears after you have beaten the game. But caution, it takes 90 star coins to unlock it! So save up along the main story!

I've always loved playing Mario and this game was great. I thought it was a bit short but I didn't mind because it has another option where you can play random worlds to collect coins. Save your star coins because you're going to need them to open another world.
