Super Mario Bros. is Great Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Bros. is a great game. I played the orginal Mario Bros. game and this one has shown me the future of gaming. Alot of new things to deal with in the mix of puzzles and castles but the old concepts still work. The ablity to play 4 players is neat but can drive you nuts unless you work together as a team. I have one wish for the game. I wish you could play it online with friends like Mario Cart. That would be the only down side to this game.

A credit to the Mario franchise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I would consider Super Mario 2 and 3 the BEST Mario games ever, this game is definitely a credit to the franchise. The game control takes a little getting used to. Seems to be a little fidgety with movements, almost like you have to over compensate the characters movements. The game is fun to play, though some of the levels are frustratingly difficult. The game makes up for this by giving unlimited continues, lives and allowing the level to be beaten by the AI if you lose a level too many times. Overall, a very good game with pretty good graphics and good fun.

Best Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love this game. We play every chance we get. I put too easy because you can get through boards that are too challenging via Luigi. However this works well with my todlers who think they are playing the game. You should see them act like they are in the game jumping. My older kids love the game just as much. They love playing with me. (They dont think I know the game since I am mom). They dont know I am a native Mario fan. LOL

The best of Super Mario Bros. 3 + motion sensing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to play the new Mario game at Best Buy's corporate campus prior to its release courtesy of Nintendo on 10/20/09. I only had time to play two levels, but if you grew up playing Mario on the classic Nintendo like I did, you will love this new Mario. I am not sure what those new to the franchise will think, but my guess is that they will enjoy it as well. This game functions just like the classic Mario games, and despite not having played those games for more than a decade, I was able to pick up the controller and begin playing immediately. You only need to learn a few new moves, such as shaking the controller to use the helicopter function. The graphics are great, and the cooperative play mode adds great new functionality to the game. Growing up my friends and I had to take turns playing, which was the biggest downside to the game. Now, with the new multiplayer capability, you no longer need to sit and wait for your friends turn to end. I would rate this even higher than Super Mario Galaxy for several reasons. First, I like the side scrolling better than the three dimensional game play of Super Mario Galaxy. Second, the multiplayer functionality in this game is far superior. Not only can you work together to complete the level (like Super Mario Galaxy), but you also compete. You each have your own score, and can actually cause the other players to lose points throughout the level by throwing them at other objects, etc. Overall, a great new game.

Lots of fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played it too much but from what I have, it is lots of fun. It is a bit more difficult than the older Mario's, but it seems like there is a lot more interaction. Having the Wii remotes makes you want to use the remote to do more things. Like jump, just like with the Nintendo controllers. (This does not happen) All in all very fun and interesting with multiple players on the screen at the same time.

Family Fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product for my husband for Christmas. It is a game we both enjoyed playing as kids and remember well. We wanted to share this new version with our children 6 and 2. The kids are still a little young to play but the really enjoy watcing mom and dad play the game. I love that we can play at the same time and that puts an entirely new spin on the game. This game is a must have for any Wii gamer.

best multiplayer game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Playing with four people is a hit. It makes it easier to accomplish levels but it takes awhile to learn how to work together. In my opinion, this is one of the best muiltplayer games on the wii. Single player is fun too. One thing about this game is it's very challenging. I wouldn't really recommend this game for kids under 10 years old. I feel like it's targeted towards people who've played this game on super nintendo for old times sake. I would recommend Donkey Kong for younger children.

Great game, nintendo delivered!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've been waiting for awhile to see if Nintendo would bring something like their classic Mario games to the table, and the certainly delivered with this one! Great game play, fun teams, and new stuff throughout while keeping in touch with the classics. Overall very happy, we've had many fun nights with friends so far, and I'm sure more can be expected in the future.

(VGB) Very Good Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Son loves the game. I thought about challenging him, but decided not to when he won the entire game. Very entertaining. Time goes by so fast when you are playing it. The gadgets help the characters out a lot when it seems like they are doomed. The bosses stop at World 8 with 2 bosses being the final ones you see. Bowser is a challenge to beat. Not easy at all.

Best mario game ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game. Especially if you played the original Mario bros. the graphics are great and the controls are easy to use. The game has some length to it. the only con about this game is the multiplayer, its really fun but your paying too much attention to your partner making sure hes not dying so it can get kinda of complicated. Definately recommended.

Good family fun!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I am more of "core gamer" and my wife is more of a "casual gamer". This was a fun game to play together. The Co-op really makes this game great. I definitely like the fact that players can sit out at certain parts. I found the game to be a fun throwback to the old school games of my childhood while still adding some new and interesting features. Hey, it's Mario. Nintendo did a great job of doing what they do best. I also appreciated the more challenging aspects of this game. We went through and collected all of the star coins and completed all of the bonus levels.

Great game for the family
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has been great for our family night and it was a great buy. My 11 year old daughter, my wife, and I all love this game. It requires some teamwork and at times you can get frustrated when you bounce off of someone else and die. It is all in good fun though. Nintendo hit a home run with this great addition to the Super Mario Bros. legacy.

Fun for all!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a great game, very similar to the DS game but you can have up to 4 players playing at the same time, make sure your friendships are strong because this game can bring the worse and best out of each other, you NEED each other to pass the levels. again, overall an amazing and wonderful game fun for newbies as well as seasoned gamers.

Good family game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good time and a solid platformer, but with more than 2 people playing it's nearly impossible to get through the game. That's OK, because with multiple players of different skill sets the chaos that ensues is perhaps more entertaining than playing the game straight through. If you've ever played multiplayer Little Big Planet on the Playstation 3, it's a similar phenomenon. The universal familiarity of the Mario franchise (and the controls) is an advantage for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, since many players will have adequate familiarity with controlling the characters. Considering the huge catalog of Wii "shovelware" available, I can recommend New Super Mario Bros. Wii as a stand-out title for the system. It's a solid game with generally classic controls. There are just a few motion-control gimmicks thrown in, and while I'm generally not a fan of motion controls in platformers, the few they have included in New Super Mario Bros. Wii do not ruin the experience.

Great game for family - Encourages Teamwork
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 5 kids and their families (including 7 grandkids ages 1 - 9) were all in town and at our house for New Year's Eve. Many found this game more fun than fireworks! Good thing since it was cold and raining outside. We ended up with a team including a 5 year boy, and 8 year old girl, a 9 year old boy and a 28 year old mom playing for a LONG time. Now everybody wants it. Those who know how to play this type of game can teach those who don't as they go to make the team stronger. We especially like the fact that this game encourages teamwork for up to 4 people instead of individual competition against each other as most 2 - 4 player games do. After midnight, when most had left the house, we still had 1 dad, 1 grandpa and 2 boys playing. Great game for families with kids. Keep in mind that since it is a team, you need as many controllers as you have team members. Friends/family can bring some or you can buy additional controllers. It's great. We love it.

Mario Never Gets Old
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another remake of Super Mario Brothers and it is still interesting! This game makes a great addition to any Wii library. Similar to SMB 3, you travel around on a map. What I like about this game is that it includes multiplayer and you can get as many continues as you want. This also has mini games in between some of the levels. Anyone who can use a Wii console should definitely give this game a try.

It's a me, Mario....and some other dudes.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My little sister got this game for her birthday, and I, being the natural gamer I am, had to play it. I was amazed that it was an actually challenging game, and that you could have four players. I have basically decided that this is one of the best games. I was extremely happy that you could play as Luigi or two different Toads. It is actually pretty hard; and even hardcore MW2 fans will want to play this game, cause I'm one of them. So happy that the Wii actually has more than ten good games.

Awesome game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked forward to this game for months! This morning (the day of the release) I was at the Best Buy store when they opened the doors. After playing for a few hours and getting to world four, I have to say that this is a really great game. Now, I grew up playing the original Nintendo with the original Mario Brothers, and this takes me back 20 years to when I was 8 years old staying up late playing. It's very similar to Super Mario Brothers 3 the way the map is laid out and the costumes and things you can do, only the graphics are much more modern. Obviously you shouldn't expect them to be the most cutting edge graphics available, but compared to the original games, which this is a successor to, it's pretty neat. BOTTOM LINE - If you have a special place in your heart for the first Mario games, then don't wait - get this now! You won't regret it, I promise.
