    Records and play back well. Notice that app sometimes does not work properly and cannot connect to the dashcam. But when it does it accesses the camera by itself and has all the recordings. Make sure you get the correct SD cards. I got one that did not get the SD card with minimum speed requirement and it would not record.

    High resolution version of 522GW

    I was going to buy another 522GW but this one was on sale. It's the same as the other but with even higher resolution so it should be easier to read license plates in the videos. I am currently using it as a backyard surveillance camera. It's much better than my real surveillance cameras.

    I know it’s got a high price but it’s worth it. Video is crystal clear. Doesn’t pay to have a dash cam if you can’t make out plates and details.

    The quality of the dash cam video is great but two problems I’m having. The camera doesn’t stay in a straight position always tilting. Second problem is that it freezes and I have to reset it. Both issues are very annoying.

    The Nextbase 622GW 4K Dash Cam is great. It is very easy to use. The Nextbase App makes it easy to view videos. The Best Buy installation is great. Easy scheduling that takes a hour.

    Nextbase 622GW is a good product. I installed my device in my 2020 Dodge Charger. I permanently wired to the fuse box. Got the kits to do this installation. The only issue I had was my charger has the fuse box in the trunk. Had to extend the wiring myself to be able to have the device on the windshield and hide all of the wiring.

    It's mediocre at best. For the price, it is a big let down. The video quality isn't that great. Reviewing footage, any still frame of passing cars shows poor quality details; ie license plates. A number of times, the camera has just frozen. Upon doing a little research, this is common when the sd card fills up. What a waste. I got two 128g sd cards because the Nextbase sd card that I bought with the camera is only 32g. You have to buy the sd card separate from the camera. It's absurd. How don't you include an sd card? And all functions don't work unless the camera is hard-wired to the vehicle. I was talked out of the hard wire kit by a Best Buy salesperson. Thanks for that. Now I need to go back to Best Buy to get a hard-wire kit. Only days after this purchase, I was online looking for a replacement. Now that the 14 day return policy has passed, I'm stuck with this thing. I have to spend another $30+ for the hard-wire kit and the camera is not dependable. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. I wouldn't recommend to my enemy's enemy. A waste of money if you plan on leaving your driveway.

      Hello,

      SD cards only have limited lifespans. In our manuals we recommend formatting every 2-3 weeks to prolong the life of the card. Without this regular formatting, or if the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing.

      Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc. As some of these are the symptoms that you're experiencing, I'd suggest that your SD card is not Dash Cam compatible, or does not have a sufficient write speed.

      I'd recommend a Dash Cam compatible 8GB -128GB U3 Micro SD card, specifically designed for Dash Cam or CCTV usage. Using a dash cam compatible SD card instead should then allow your Dash Cam to function as designed. The card needs to have a minimum continuous write speed of 48MB/s.

    After less than one year of operation, the battery no longer holds a charge. The device will not operate with the rear camera anymore. The phone application has been nothing but a buggy mess with connection problems. No refund outside of 30 days. Lesson learned.

The dash cam does need to be mounted/connected to a power supply - the dash cam is not like a cell phone or laptop where it takes a charge and works for X number of hours. What rear camera do you have? Are all cords/connections secure?     What a waste of money! I bought the 622GW thinking it would be a quality dashcam. Nope. Not 6 months of having it, it died. No power, no lights, nothing - dead. Since it was under warranty, I had it replaced by BB. The same thing happened. But since I already exchanged one, BB wouldn't let me exchange or refund the second defective dashcam. $400 wasted.

    Very good video recorder, software needs update

    Does a really good job of recording a wide-angle view (140 degrees) but the software is a little "clunky" if you are trying to document a drive longer than about 5 minutes. I take a number of drives through National Parks and landmarks (i.e., the Virgin River Gorge) and like to record and save the trip.

    Easy to set up. Excellent video quality. Magnetic mount makes it easy to install/remove. Nextbase says to use their micro-SD card but not clear if other name brand cards w/same specs will work as well.

    I always say, you get what you pay for so don't cheap out. Not in this case. Had the 622GW installed, the next day cam would turn on for a second, than the battery would flash as no charge, (Hard wired into my cars power, so should not be an issue) Took it back to the Best Buy installer and he got it to work by unplugging the dashcam and plugging it back in. Fine, good to go, right? Nope, next day same issue. Going back to Best Buy and returninig it today.
