Great quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this and have taken two trips w/ it and was highly impressed. It is very light weight and stylish. It took a little bit of effort to get this installed the way I wanted, which basically means that I didn’t want the wires exposed and showing and after about an hour I got it hooked up and running. I downloaded the App and had it paired w/ my phone in no time. As far as the quality of this Nextbase 622 GW Dash Cam, again it is very well made and stylish. It allows you to record in three separate recording lengths, I choose to try out initially in one minute segments and it works fine. I also received a Nexbase micro card w/ this Dash Cam and it includes a card reader for it to insert in my laptop. The video quality of this camera is superb. Its clarity is amazing and so clear. It does pick up voices and that is a plus. Overall I am well please w/ this small camera. The only dislike that I have is that the screen is a little too small to my liking, I would like to have one that is a little bigger in stature and able to see the video better, hence, my reason for the 4 stars. But overall I am very well pleased.

Only front camera works great, others cameras don’
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The front camera is good quality, in very dark spots you will only see the area of your headlights. Alexa is not really helpful, is anything it just stops your Bluetooth sound. Yes you can command it to play music but if you don’t have Amazon music it won’t work. Camera is too expensive and in addition you have to buy other attachments separately costing each $100 to include the SD card. So to be able to work you will end up spending over $500. Down side is that its cabin camera is completely useless if you don’t have a light turned on in the cabin. The touch system is useful but it lags on sensitivity so you have tap multiple times to get something to work. IT IS NOT A 3 Chanel camera like they advertised. It is a dual camera, you can only connect 2 cameras at a time so you will have to choose between having a dash, cabin, or rear camera.

Great dashcam with awesome clarity!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dashcams seem to be more popular these days. With two young drivers in our household we felt we should have one of these in the car that they use. We had a previous dash cam that we have in another car it was nice but this Nextbase camera surpasses that camera except this camera doesn't have a rear camera but you can purchase a rear camera and then route a camera cable back to the main camera. This camera for us was easy to install and the app I felt was user intuitive. People that don't use smart phones may have an issue using the app but if you have other camera/thermostat apps this won't be hard to maneuver around. I like the feature that if your car is parked and someone bumps your car the camera will take a video at that time. The picture quality is really clear and the night vision is also very good. In fact a deer ran in front of the car and we were able to capture the footage. It has image stabilization which the older camera did not and it does help. Looking forward to seeing how it works in snow. Very good dash cam.

catches it...when it can
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nextbase 622GW Dash cam has been a nice upgrade for my car. so far it has worked as advertised. BUT, the lack of instructions is annoying. Unfortunately my car cannot accommodate the ability to tuck the cord into the roof and along the door because of it's size. So I currently have it just handing down. This is only slightly annoying, but something I can deal with. The videos do have good video quality so far. I was almost in an accident last night and it caught it with great detail. About once a week my phone will disconnect from the Dash cam and I have to re-establish connection. When this occurs, my camera doesn't record anything. I even changed the settings in my phone, but still keeps happening. Would I buy a 2nd one of these? I'm not sure, but I do like the one I have. It's easy to watch and delete videos from the app on my phone, but it TERRIBLY hard to do from the camera itself. This is also set up for cars that drive on the left side of the road vs. right, which I didn't think would matter, but I did find it kind of annoying.

A pleasure to use. High quality, professional!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera is extremely easy to use and very well designed. It has an extremely professional feel to it. The included accessories are as follows: Tape-based mount Suction-based mount Mini-USB cable (not micro) Mini-USB car charger with extra long cable I haven't used the tape mount as I want to be able to transfer the camera between my two cars. As such, I've only used the suction mount and I will say it is pretty darn tight. So much so that I have trouble getting it off! It has a very good design to applying the suction (there is a plastic switch to engage it). I know a friend who used to mount his phone with one of those cheap Chinese made products. It certainly wasn't as strong as the suction on this camera. He would have to consistently provide moisture (read: lick) to the suction cup to get it to stick better. I can assure you that it is not the case here. No licking required. It is strong! Site note: the magnetic connection mechanism from the mount to the camera is even stronger than the suction mount. Trying to remove the camera from the mount-connection with the intent of leaving the mount suctioned to the window will result in the mount coming off! So yeah, save yourself the headache and focus on removing the suction. I highly recommend you men out there read the instruction manual. Your first inclination will be to connect the car charger cable directly to the camera. You will find that will not allow the camera to angle properly. Nextbase cleverly made the charging integrated into the mount, so the charger cable actually connects TO THE MOUNT! Haha! What I really like about the camera is that a quick tap of the screen takes a picture. The settings are very nice and easy to navigate. Options for turning on&off the speed, gps, among many other things. The app is very handy. It connects with your phone enabling the ability to have the phone call emergency services for you should you be incapacitated from a crash. They provide 1 year of this service for free, after which you have to pay. Thankfully I haven't had to make use of it, but I'm glad it is there. The app also lets you view any files stored on the camera. REALLY nice feature. I mean sure, go ahead and move the SD card to a computer and pull a file off, but if you need to show a video to someone quickly without using the navigation on the camera, your phone is there. The ONLY big downside to the camera is the camera itself. But this is not specific to this model. It is all dash cameras. We are not at a point where cameras are fully adopted in society, where everyone has one and stealing them is of no value to a thief. As such by leaving your camera in the car, you are making yourself a target. It stinks that we live in a society where you essentially need to empty your car any time you leave it somewhere, even at home, to avoid getting your car broken into. Dash cams are still a luxury item and of course are worth a lot on the secondary market. Eventually we will get to a point where stealing a dash cam is not beneficial to a thief. Until that time, I recommend sticking to the suction mount so you can easy remove all evidence that your car even has a camera. I highly recommend the Nextbase 622GW model. I really enjoy using it. I will say that it makes me feel safer in my car and makes me want to drive safer.

Not consistent!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera seemed great initially. The quality on the video is actually fairly decent. However, I have constant issues of it freezing. It’ll be mid-recording and just freeze. The app is supposed to allow you to view footage immediately but it will either freeze or say it’s an unsupported file type. It’s worked like twice before so I know that’s not the case. This will also not stick to my windshield. It keeps falling off. All in all, this purchase is a huge regret, and you could probably get a cheaper camera that does the same and probably works a lot better.

Posted .Hello,
I am very sorry to hear that you had problems with your 622GW. Freezing is symptomatic of an SD card problem. I'd recommend a Dash Cam compatible 8GB -128GB U3 Micro SD card, specifically designed for Dash Cam or CCTV usage. Using a dash cam compatible SD card instead should then allow your Dash Cam to function as designed. The card needs to have a minimum continuous write speed of 48MB/s.
For guaranteed functionality and warranty of the SD card itself, we always suggest using a Nextbase Micro SD card within a Nextbase Dashcam.

Great Picture and Useable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The videos in 4K are crisp in the daytime and good quality at night. I like it has a parking mode so if my vehicle is tampered with it is on camera. Easy to setup and use. Well worth buying to upgrade from an older dash cam, also good option for first time buyer.

Great 4k Dashcam.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous dash cam was integrated into the rear view mirror and worked well. The 622gw frees up my rearview and provides 4K video along with other really nice features. The camera itself is pretty small and has a nice finish to it. It feels and looks like a well built dashcam, definitely not a cheap knock off. After opening it up and installing the app it told me my software is up to date so I proceeded to install the included micro sd card and charge for 2 hours. When I went to install the camera in my vehicle I realized that the suction attachment had a built in place for the power wire to run allowing you to attach the camera to the base magnetically. Really cool since you may be removing the camera every now and then and this allows you to do so without unplugging anything from the actual camera. You also have a polarized lens on the front that you twist to remove reflections on your dashboard. I drove around for a few days with the settings on 1080p but I couldn’t make out license plates of cars in front of me, I bumped it up to 4k and that fixed the problem. I don’t know if the 1080 setting I had it on was incorrect, but I feel like I should be able to make out license plates at 1080 with this camera. The quality on 1080 is downright bad. I will look more into it, but in the meantime I’ll keep it on 4k. The footage is great in 4k and everything looks clear and crisp. The sound is clear and easily made out. It records in either 1, 2 or 3 minute sections and then when you click the nextbase button at the bottom, it locks a file in for what looks like 45 seconds. I think it ends up being 15 seconds before you click the lock button and 30 seconds after, are locked on the SD card. There is an alexa option on the Nextbase 622gw as well, I’m not an alexa user but I may be in the future so this is a cool option to have. The camera has extra features like image stabilization and extreme weather that can be turned on and off. The nextbase app works flawlessly with this dashcam as well as the windows nextbase player. In video playback the app gives you a realtime Google map image of your location on the video, your speed, latt/long location and the windows app has a g-force sensor and some other options like editing and annotating videos and zooming. I also went ahead and bought the rear camera but have not installed it yet. Nextbase has several add on options that you can add to this camera such as rear facing cabin camera and rear window camera. All in all I have to say that this camera is legit and worth the purchase. The only con being the 1080p setting showing up low resolution. Other than that, this one is a keeper.

Extremely sharp video and stills!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What do I want from a dash cam? Sharp - unquestionable photos and videos that leave no detail to the imagination. This camera does just that - 4k baby, 4k! Setup was extremely easy - charge for 2 hours via USB , suction cup the mount to the windshield, then attach to the mount via double-sided tape, then attach the camera. Running the cable for the cigarette lighter plug took a whopping 5 minutes. Oh yes - if you plan on adding a memory card (trust me, you'll want to!), be sure to get a "High Endurance" one, otherwise it won't be able to keep up with the data rates being written by the 4k camera. The verdict? I need two of these - one facing front through the windshield, one facing rear to show everyone inside and the rear view! Great camera - highly recommended!

Great product - excellent peace of mind!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this installed in my daughter's car, with the rear camera, and it is invaluable. I haven't had to rely on it for insurance purposes yet but a couple of times I have gone back through the footage to review, and discuss with my daughter. Simple, easy to install and integrate and easy to work with the video files...

Nextbase 622GW - Famous Battery Slayer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Nextbase 622GW in 2022 with the intent of using it primarily on overseas vacations and used it on a trip to Iceland in 2022. On that trip the Nextbase worked flawlessly. Excellent 4K video with and easy to setup menu. We were very pleased. After about a year I noticed that the battery seemed to be constantly charging, I guessed that it was not a big deal but I did disable the parking feature as I thought that it might be draining the battery. Well to my surprise the battery now does not hold any charge after about a year of use. For a unit that cost close to $400 that is absolutely horrible!!! The battery died after a year of use, really!!! So I called Nextbase asking if they had a service to replace the battery as I figured this would be cheaper than buying a new unit (I also had purchased the rear view camera for the 622GW). Well they have no service to replace the battery and suggested I get a battery from Ebay and make the replacement. But they were nice enough to send me instructions on how to replace the battery and the 422 model - good customer service I would say!!! I regret this purchase and Nextbase has lost a good customer!!!

Great picture quality. Falls short in other ways
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best thing about this dash cam is the picture quality. It’s phenomenal, hire solution, 4K quality picture in even the worst conditions. I got this product during a time when there’s a hurricane looming, low visibility and dense fog. I was very surprised at how clear the picture is, it was almost as if there was no fog out at all. I also live on a very dark, “country” road with absolutely no street lights. And I felt confident with this dash camera rolling. But, that’s the only good thing for me. The instructions are very basic, I recommend watching YouTube videos. My mother is in her 60s and she just gave up trying to set it up on her own. The app they ask you to download is subpar at best. The biggest con for me is having to have it constantly plugged up to your cars USB outlet is a bit con for me. Depending on how your car is made, having a wire dangling, or having to decide between having the dash cam hooked up and let’s say your phone is just outdated to me. I have a car with a USB plug hidden in the middle console, and closer to the dash and feels very cluttered. I’ll stick to my dash cam that hooks up to the OBD port and out of the way. This product just wasn’t for me.

Easy install
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy install, and clear image. You have different options to mount eithet taped on or suction cup. The issue i have is the magnet yo conect to the mount is very strong and it makes it very dificult to remove only the camera. Another thing i dislike is the power connection you get a very long wire and that is a plus but the actual connection gets in the way of when you are pointing the camera. Other than that it has great resolution and you have the option to record in diferent size segment.

Crisp clear picture, easy access to videos
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the Nextgen dash cam that I had hardwired into my car by Best Buy. The cam came with a cord to plug into a cigarette lighter, but my preference was to not have any extra wires dangling off my dash. The hardwire kits was only $30 extra and was installed so the cam was always on. It can also be installed so that you have to turn it on each time you start your car. You can also purchase a rear view camera to attach, but this review is for front cam only. The cam video is very clear and sharp. The camera automatically records the video in 1 minute increments. If the camera detects a possible incident, the video is locked until you review and with unlock or delete. All other videos are saved until the SD card runs out of space and then they are deleted for the new videos. The unit works seamlessly without any input. You can view the videos in 3 ways. On the screen of the cam, taking out the SD card and reviewing on a laptop or my favorite was is to WIFI connect to the camera through the app on your phone. All videos are clearly dated and timed and easy to view. On the app, I like having access to the map that shows where the video was taken. The daylight videos are very crisp and clean and it would be easy to see license plates for vehicles that are near. The night vision is not as good, but is respectable. Overall, I like the cam and the visual range of the video. You can see anything that is forward facing of the camera. I do think it would be helpful to get the rear facing camera though and I will look to buy that in the future.

Great Dash Cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I just wanted to say I had an issue powering up the camera. I plugged it in to charge and when charging was completed I tried powering up the unit and it would not power up. It took several tries over two days to get it to finally power up. It now appears to be functioning properly. I have no idea why it would not come on to begin with as I did nothing different than i would normally do. I contact NextBase Customer service and they did get right back to me, but by the time they contacted me the unit was operating as it should. NextBase CS was very responsive and willing to assist. As far as the camera goes, I am happy with it. Install was easy and took about 20 minutes. Once installed in the vehicle, I downloaded the app and connected the device and got it set up with no issues. There are many options to choose from when setting up the unit and it will depend on your individual needs to determine how you want to set it up. My needs are a dash cam that is reliable, works well at night and has no issues recording and storing video. This checks all the boxes, the video is clear in daylight and very good after dark. The video is clear enough to read and record the license plates of the vehicles in sight of the camera which for me is a must. I am on the road daily going from job to job and like the security of having a good reliable camera in the event of an accident. Overall I would highly recommend this camera and applaud the customer service of NextBase.

Great Dash Cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dash cam is nice. It's easy to install and comes with everything needed to complete the install. It comes with Two adhesive pads to attach the camera to the windshield. It also comes with a suction cup unit for another mounting option. The video quality is great and the app that goes with the unit is easy to use. I"m firmly convinced that Alexa doesn't like me because of my accent because I couldn't get it to understand me.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW! What can I say? The image quality is AMAZING in 4K, I wasn't able to find another dashcam anywhere that supported 4K at the front and 1080 at the rear. I would recommend making sure you use a nextbase SD card with the camera too, I followed guidance on their website on what SD cards are recommended to use. I can pair with my S22 ultra to view my footage wirelessly on my cellphone and I love the SOS function which helps alert the authorities to my location in a crash if I ever need it. I can't get over how many features this camera has! Only once did I need to contact nextbase for support to get a manual, but when I did the agent was courteous and super helpful and pointed me in the right direction - I was surprised how efficient they were too! Thanks Nextbase!

Awesome Dashcam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been searching for a while now for the perfect dashcam, and I found just the one. This offers Night Mode, which has worked great! The 4k image quality has also been noticeably better than other products on the market. I would 100% recommend this and I have been impressed with the ease of use as well.

Great as a dashcam; don't bank on the extras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously owned the 422GW. What I appreciate most about this unit is the upgraded screen size and the ability to adjust the lens for reflections off the dash. Additionally, the easily-accessible fog/weather setting makes it a snap to adjust the recording settings for inclement weather, something often done in my part of the country. Aside from these welcome upgrades and the increase in recording resolution there is not much difference from previous models. You still use the same 'NextBase' app on your phone and it's still plagued with the intermittent and flakey connectivity issues unless you're fine with having to manually launch the app and manually connect to the camera every time you start driving again - I'm not. The unit comes with an extra mounting base and a PC connectivity cord, both welcome additions over previous models as it makes it easy to transport between two vehicles if you choose, and much easier to charge at your desk. The 12VDC power connector has plenty of cord to wire up in my F250 truck, making it easy to run a "hidden" installation. My wish here would be for the plug itself to be smaller - it doesn't seem necessary to stick out 3" from my dash. At least give it a 90deg connector, etc. lots of ways to improve the experience here. As the Alexa integration relies on a connection to your phone, it's hampered by the same connectivity issues as the rest of the device's "connected" features. Final verdict: a solid unit that does the job but misses the details from an installation standpoint; don't buy it for the touted connectivity features as the app (on Android) doesn't auto-connect well to the device.

Nice little gem
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I decided to get this dash cam for my 2012 Jeep wrangler. I do a lot of off reading and trailing in it so I wanted something to keep track of my adventures in it and this little thing is an absolute gem. First off the 4k is crystal clear and the screen is absolutely vibrant. I have an iPhone and everything syncs perfect with apple. Super easy set up which I thought wouldn’t have been and it looks good in my jeep. One thing I really liked about this dash cam is when your trailing especially in a wrangler you are shaky and bouncing all over the place constantly so I expected a ton of blur to happen while I was going through some rough terrain. To my absolute surprise everything was perfect there was absolutely no motion blur at all and even in the roughest of patches this thing kept recording clear as day zero issues. I have nothing else to compare this to because this is my very first dash cam I have ever owned but so far I literally have zero complaints about it and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for one of these.
