Installation was a breeze! Since the app goes with the camera I just want to caution you that it does not work well! The SOS feature for emergencies never wants to sync nor do the videos. I have had to sync up the camera multiple times. If you want to get this for Use with Facebook or YouTube videos my advice is to keep looking! For insurance purposes this camera will do the job since videos are stored on a SD Card!

OK hardware, bad mounting mechanism, poor software

It squeaks or creaks constantly while driving. Holding it gently with my fingers stops the noise, but it always comes back. I'm not sure exactly what part is making the noise, but it appears to be the ball mechanism that connects the camera itself to the mount. The tiny plastic buttons might also be the culprit. The iOS software is extremely bad. I wouldn't trust it at all. It's very slow, relies on a convoluted Bluetooth and then private wifi method of communication. I have not yet successfully downloaded a video from camera to phone. Good thing you can pop the microSD card out. I was going to buy two of these, one for each car, but based on the creaking noise and the terrible software, I'm going to look for another brand for the second vehicle.

Purposeful Design Flaw

If involved in an accident you risk losing power and losing captured video. Battery is wired and wires are soldered onto board. Not a big deal if you know how to solder but this specific battery cannot be sourced from US as Nextbase is in UK and UK does not ship batteries to US as I was told by Nextbase Support Rep. This battery design was not an accident. Fooled me once. Will not buy again.

I am sorry you’ve had this experience. The internal battery is meant for emergencies, the Dash Cams are designed to be used with a constant power supply. Missing recordings are usually related to a non-compatible SD Card rather than a power issue. We would like the opportunity to address your issue and find a solution for you.

Just ok

There is firmware issues, iOS connection issues, the battery no longer holds a charge. There are better options out there. Or just pass on the whole idea since nobody is driving anywhere right now.

Had to get a replacement as the one i bought didnt want to boot up. This was months after i got it. I think maybe the heat did something to it. The customer service from next base was great. Got me a replacement in a decent amount of time. Then the suction cup stopped working. Was able to buy a replacement. Not perfect but good quality video. Especially at night.

Good but not great

It works well and turns on and off automatically. The WiFi feature to connect it to your phone is unreliable and slow. The firmware updates are also a bit annoying. But otherwise I am pretty happy with it. The rear camera add-on works well but it’s difficult to adjust.

The Nextbase 322GW has a few features that I was looking for in my next dash cam. Being able to sync to my phone and easy removal of the camera, from the windshield. The first one I purchased, the on & off button broke after a week. I exchanged for another (322GW). So far so good. Picture quality is very clear . I'm Happy with the camera so far. Time will tell!

Horrible company support.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been in contact with nextbase support for over 6 months regarding this (August 2025) and I have been ran around for months. This camera constantly freezes, stops recording, and intermittently refuses to turn on. I have a 622 which I have never had problems with so I thought this would be a good buy for my wife. Turns out the camera was a dud. No problem, I figure they would replace it and move on. Nope. For over 6 months and near 30 emails they have gave me the run around requesting I do test after test to find the problem and still I have a non functioning camera. I have asked for replacements, to send it in, etc but they will not. I am not upset about the dud of a camera, I understand not every product is perfect. But I am immensely dissatisfied with the support team. Any other company would have had me send the camera in for repairs within the first week, realize was non functioning, and replaced it. But this company seemingly engages in unethical business practices by continuously asking me to preform at home tests that prove nothing but this camera does not work and still refuses to take it back (all under warranty mind you). I believe they are doing this so I have no other option but to buy a new one, however I will never buy another nextbase camera again. I currently have 3 of their cameras in 3 cars and have had bad luck in just one of them. Again if the support team would do their job and replace the camera, I would likely be a lifetime nextbase camera user as I love their products (when they work). Now that I have seen that if a issue arises, they are unwilling to help you, I will never buy another nextbase product again. I encourage you to be careful with this company. When the cameras work, they are fantastic, but if you need support, you might as well cut your losses and move on because they will email you for half a year jerking you around until you give up.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought this dash camera for my new car, very disappointed, poor video image, blurry, definitely not HIGH resolution, for some reason, I can't get it to connect with my iPhone, tried every different way, the battery of the camera doesn't last long, the most scary thing is this unit heats up quickly, even though it was only plugged in for as little as 30 minutes. I am wondering if i have received a defective item, i am returning it.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some issues.
Are you using a Nextbase SD card?
SD cards only have limited lifespans. In our manuals we recommend formatting every 2-3 weeks to prolong the life of the card. Without this regular formatting, or if the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing.
Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, excessive heat production, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc.

Still trying to figure out how to make it not record everytime I start the vehicle. I have to turn it off each time sonit doesn't continue to run. I'm sure I'm missing something. Even ewith that little quirk I plan on buying more for my other vehicles

I drive alot since I’m a courier I get into alot of car accidents. He said that video from a dash cam can help significantly in filing a claim in the event of an accident.

Someone tried to run me off the road one night and I was unable to make out the plate to report them. This thing has caught a lot of close calls that I would not have if not for this camera. Can be your best friend on insurance claim for accidents not your fault .

Decent camera for the price

It’s been going strong two years now (bought in 2022) and has not given me any problems. Video quality is not amazing, I can’t read the license plate clearly for vehicles that are more than 1 to 1.5 car length away but I knew that before buying. If it’s a super sunny day with perfect lighting occasionally, you can see the plates clearly.

I definitely feel like I don’t use it to its maximum capability. I like that I can see it from an app the only down side is that I need to have it with me. I would love to be able to see it while I’m not close to my car.
