This camera is very adequate…Would like to see at least a 1440p version. While the primary nextbase camera units have been upgraded repeatedly they do not seem to be in a big hurry to improve the rear cameras. It is nice that the newest unit is still compatible with the older components for those that have a previous generation, but if you are buying the 622 as your first in this modular line up this “barely hd” unit falls a little flat compared to its 4K capabilities.

The perfect companion for the Nextbase 622GW. Video quality is amazing and plugs into the side of the dash cam.

Could not use camera. Wanted it for Parking mode. The hardwire kit does not have proper wiring. It could only be connected to a live wire which caused the battery to drain. Once low limit was reached, camera completely shut off (and parking mode with it) to save the battery, Terrible design flaw by Nextbase. Also had multiple software issues trying to get film clips downloaded and usable on PC software program.

Had best buy install this in my new car, works great so far but havent captured any craziness yet.

I have two of these and when they work they are great. Problem I ran into was my Dash cam 522 would not record. Unplug rear camera and it worked. Bought a replacement and we were back recording the rear again. Might have been a fluke?

I drive about 40,000 miles a year so a few years ago I decided to get the Nextbase 522GW dash cam. I had it installed as hard wired at Best Buy. About a year later they had a sale on the rear window camera so in August of 2020 I decided to get it to have what is behind me recorded. Had it installed by the tech at Best Buy and it worked great—for a little over a year. Then it started having issues and then it stopped working completely.

i like this company but, best buy sent me an open package and the rear camera did not work. so i returned the whole set.

It works great and as expected when it’s not freezing up. I’m not sure if it’s a camera issue or a SD card issue. I’ve used 3 different cards and the camera seems to start freezing up after a couple of days of video. It’s the recommended UHD card and has plenty of memory left each time. The only way to resolve it is to reset the camera and stop the video from recording before 2 seconds or it will freeze. Then format the card from the camera and it will operate correctly for a couple of days. Same issue with any SD card btw. Im running Nextbase 622GW with the rear window cam. Less than 2 months old.

Great addition to the Nextbase cam for rear recording, unless you want to point it in a different direction. I recommend if you have the option to add this, DO IT!!

Would not stay WiFi connected or dash cam when trying to look at videos and especially trying to down load videos. I have had several dashcam s the lady 6 to 8 years. The next base 622gw this one I had just had a issue, I purchased to front two rear to go into my two cars. I returned both

Wide area of coverage in HD, pretty inconspicuous and hidden wires. Good investment and excellent mate for my Dash Cam.

Provides a good rearview image on the dash cam. Hardly noticeable in its place.
