The original camera that was ordered was incorrect, so the correct one had to be reordered. That was a delay of at least a week. On my second visit to the Eden Prairie installation location, the second rear camera was installed. It worked only for the ride home. I stopped by the EP shop for the third time to see if any cables were loose. The technician unplugged power to the camera and then replugged power. The camera worked on the way home. Since then, it has worked a few times intermittently, but as I write this review, it is offline. The bottom line is that the rear camera is of no value to me. It is a waste of money.

Does Not mount in a 2017 Nissan Rogue

We did not get to use this camera. We were informed by the Best Buy installer that this rear camera would not mount in a 2017 Nissan Rogue. He assisted with returning the camera and getting us a Thinkware camera that would fit int a Nissan Rogue.

One year plus a couple days and this camera stopped working and Best Buy’s says it will need replaced. It’s not a cheap camera so that is ridiculous. Find another brand.

Was extremely happy with the product for 58 days. On day 59 the dash cam stopped recording. I would start it recording again and it would stop recording after a minute or so. There for ended up not happy with this product

Hello,
A lack of recording is symptomatic of a non-compatible SD card or a failed SD card. SD cards only have limited lifespans. In our manuals we recommend formatting every 2-3 weeks to prolong the life of the card. Without this regular formatting, or if the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing. Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc. Please ensure the card that you are using is compatible, and is being formatted every two weeks.
Here's how to format:
1) On the Dash Cam: a) Turn on the Dash Cam b) Stop it recording c) Open Settings d) Go into Setup e) Click 'Format' f) Follow the instructions.

It worked for a few days then was mostly static after that. I returned the whole set up after two weeks. The app is horrible also if you can get it to connect.

Great little camera, but, needs more cable. I installed this in my 2012 Nissan Xterra, which is a mid sized, short wheel base, SUV. My plan, to avoid running the cable near the upper side curtain airbags, was to run from the dash cam, to the nearest a-pillar, down to the floor, and along the kick panels, then back up the rear, and across to the rear camera. When I got to the rear cargo area, I realized, I was going to be about two feet shy of reaching the center of the rear window. I ended up having to remove all of my upper interior trim, and thread it carefully below the side curtain bags anyway. An extra few feet of included cable, wouldn't be that much of a cost difference. And, it's easier to tuck away extra cable, than try to find an extension on short notice. The picture quality of the camera, paired with my 322GW, is pretty good, the camera has a nice, wide view, and, is easily adjusted. My concerns going forward, are how well the camera's magnets will hold position over rough roads and terrain. And, how well the double sided tape will hold to the glass, as it was easily peeled off, and repositioned. Overall though, aside from having to route the cable where I didn't want to, the camera seems to be of very good quality, and should serve it's purpose well.

The Rear Window Camera comes with six metres of cabling, which is the maximum length we recommend to ensure full image quality. We recommend fitting the cabling via the roofing trim in a vehicle to ensure it's correctly fitted. The camera comes with a spare adhesive pad if a replacement pad is required.

I paired this with a 522GW. It works well, and displays a picture in picture screen so both front and rear can be viewed at the same time. I like it for extra evidence in case of an accident and also when towing or hauling bicycles on the back it’s nice seeing how everything is riding/towing.

Get this independent rear camera or have regrets!

Better than the only other option, a USB telephoto 30° cam, which cut down resolution on our new 622GW 4k to 1080p, in addition to complicating finding the best view for both rear and forward cams (since they cannot be aimed independently), like this dedicated rear facing camera allows.
This is the better choice of the two equally priced options, hands down imo!
