It's a fun game, but it really takes some time to learn just the simple basic skills let alone, takes a long time to learn advanced skills

The on-ice gameplay is much improved this year, but it doesn't matter when you can't get into games. There are so many error codes, bugs and glitches that it often takes 40 minutes to get into one 25 minute game. It's nonsense and it's been this way since the game launched on September 14th, which is 2 months ago. So for 2 months this dev team has known about the game-breaking issues and done nothing. It's insulting to their entire customer base. And they changed so much about lobbies/matchmaking from 18 that it has ruined the "playing with friends" experience. You are endlessly taken out of the dressing room/lobby you are in with your friends or people you just played with online. So you have to essentially re-group after nearly every game and it's a giant headache. In 18 you were always left in the same dressing room with whomever you just played with and it was super easy. Now it's ruined and the fluidity of playing with others has been destroyed in a mode that is about playing with others. Gigantic EA failure.

Pretty much just like 18, 17, 16 ... New skater animations and the outdoor "pond hockey" mode.

Worst than the predecessors. They just keep dumping the same old same old into the game. Being the same every year is one thing. But this takes it to a new level. Ai on my team is complete garbage, tripping is guaranteed 10 times a game if you poke check. This game sucks

Online play connections and locker room errors galore! After 20+ years of making NHL games, you would think EA would get things right. NO..... Again, they release a game incomplete and full of glitches and errors when trying to play online against other teams and players. On top of that, you MUST join a CLUB to challenge other clubs - as drop in team play is just TWO CHL teams and you are playing OUTSIDE in street clothes. So, if you don't have a regular group of people to play with, you are pretty much stuck with nothing. Seems EA just cares about HUT - cause that is where the money is.

I play this everyday but I'm not sure why. Every poke check is a tripping penalty, every stick lift is a slashing penalty, and half the hits are a penalty. How can you play defense if you can't touch anyone?! This is worse than the real NHL.

Graphics need upgrading. Ok game still to play but nothing too exciting

$70 for a roster update. I used to love this series, but every year it's gets a little worse. Like always they spend all their time on worthless stuff, instead of fixing the actual gameplay. Basically the same game as always tho.

Plays are authentic as to hands on playing. Great game.

I only get this game for drop in play and it’s horrible this year

This game gets worse and worse every year and this year it looks like no one bothered to buy it because there's very little people available for online play.

If you love to play Hockey Games buy this game. You will be glad you did and you will get hooked on it very quickly. This is my favorite Hockey Game to play and I love to play all Hockey Games.

ANY EA sports game is worth picking up, and this is my second favorite behind Madden.

can’t use 200 legends they advertise, maybe 100 and you can’t move them to say bruins, oilers, rangers etc! Huge disappointment. To get remaining “legends” you need to spend more money on a pack of cards and hopefully a “legend” is in there!!! How is there no Orr,bourque, Neely , Bure, Gordie Howe, lindtos in their legend list??? If your getting this thinking there are 200 “legends” be warned they lie to you!!!!
