Customers are saying

Customers regard NHL 21 favorably, particularly praising its impressive graphics and improved gameplay. Many also appreciated the price point and the enhanced "Be a Pro" mode. However, some customers expressed disappointment with the lack of frequent roster updates throughout the season. The game's realism and AI were also noted, though with less frequent commentary.

Hockey is not my cup of tea, but my kids like this game and have fun playing it - graphics are good decent -

More of the same from EA

Player face models are hit and miss (Artemi Panarin, an MVP candidate last season, looks awful) and the usual cheap goals are still there. Hut Rush is fun and a nice bite-sized portion of the game with solid rewards if you're into that mode. World of CHEL could use some work (please bring back attribute training, not skill boosts) but with the right group it can be a lot of laughs.

Too similar to last years entry. Not much has changed gameplay wise. I still enjoy franchise mode some but there's much here other then updated rosters. EA needs to either lose the sports contracts or step their game up to do more then the bare minimum.

EA Quality has been slacking recently. This game plays much like Madden of the era and was not happy with this one. Perhaps NHL 22 on a next gen console would be better?

Only marginal improvements over last year's game. St. Louis Blues arena still shows paint and features prior to the 2019 renovation. Sad.

Got this one at a killer price, it's a good hockey game but will never compare to NHL '96

Fun, but nothing new or worth full price

Once again, its basically a roster and jersey update. There are bugs that have been ongoing for years that have not been fixed.

Same old gameplay. Ridiculous poke checking and one timers. Good graphics and some fun options.

It's a good game but I feel like the game play in these NHL games is getting worse each year. I'd still recommend this purchase but don't have high hopes.

Just a typical NHL game I don’t play all the other modes like I used to. I really only like to play EASHL so I waited until it went on sale.

NHL 14, or is it 21?

It's a copy paste situation for this franchise since about NHL 14. The game plays fairly well, AI defense is terrible, as always.

Not much different from NHL 20, so, unless you want to pay for updated rosters, it's probably not worth the purchase.
