Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with Nier: Automata's excellent gameplay, compelling story, and memorable music. Many also praised the game's action sequences and high replay value, though some found the difficulty and map design challenging. A few players noted issues with the camera and lack of an auto-save feature. Overall, the positive feedback on core gameplay elements outweighs the concerns regarding specific aspects of the game's design.

Its weird, and will make you feel things.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short version: Its a hack-and-slash by Platinum Games, with the story by Yoko Taro, the guy behind the prequel and the Drakengard games (who also wears a mask/helmet in interviews). If you like those two things, then buy it. Longer Version: Nier: Automata is much better than the prior game, Drakengard 3. There are not obnoxious performance issues (frame-rate issues and screen tearing everywhere). The combat works, it is more than just mash buttons. You can explore the world as opposed to short segmented linear levels that are reused constantly. The story is weird, weird in the sense of what is going on (post-apocalyptic war between robots and androids on a destroyed earth), and how it is told (one example of the robots raising a robotic baby in a cut scene). It is a game that if you can digest the weirdness of it you can get a lot out of it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Nier game I've tried and wow its like 3 games in one almost. Such a blast to play and you get several different types of playthroughs with different characters.

Brilliant

The Best of Both Worlds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for the fun action of a Platinum game with the deep RPG elements and story of a Square Enix/Yoko Taro game, then this is exactly what you're looking for. The combat and open world never get tiring, and the side quests provide good incentives and are not nearly as overbearing as in the first game. Furthermore, fans of the OST of the first game will be pleasantly surprised to hear Keiichi Okabe come back in full force with what I consider to be an even stronger selection. All in all, if you are looking for a fun hack and slash game, while also desiring a deeper system for upgrading your character and optional sidequests to expand on the story, then look no further.

This game is a gem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2B is one of the sexiest characters ever in any kind of media. The game is a bit slow at some points but its very unique and action packed most of the time. It should not have released on xbox that is a slap to the face of sony since they had said it would not release on another home console at this point they should release it on nintendo switch as well to make it fair to all. The story is very intriguing and you would truely enjoy this game if you give it a chance.

Buy this before FF 15!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a near perfect game. The story is excellent, game play provides enough flexibility to keep your attention, the world is imaginative and fun to explore. What you get. Action RPG. 60+ story, with multiple endings (something I actually dislike..why do you do this Jrpgs?). If you are turned off by a sexy heroine you might not feel comfortable playing this game. I found 2b one of my favorite characters in a game in a while!

Wonderful game for the PS4 -- Highly recommended
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nier:Automata seemed to come out of nowhere. Despite it being somewhat of a sequal (the other titles were NieR and Drakengard), the game can fully be played and enjoyed by itself without history of the others. Automata runs at 1600x900 (60 fps) on PS4 and 1920x1080 (60 fps) on the PS4 Pro and looked great. This review will be for the PS4 Pro Version. The game is about 45GB download/install (so I imagine the disc will be about the same size install) Character design is great, but the real standout feature for me is the fact that the game combines so many genres seemlessly. The game will go from a 3D RPG into a 2D sidescroller, a shooter/action game into a massive bullet shooting game on-the-fly. It creates a really fun experience and one unlike any other game I've played. Where the game does start to get a bit weird is in that you need to play through the game multiple times (as different characters) to unlock the 2nd half of the game. It definitely adds replay to the game but some may not want to dedicate the extra time needed in order to get to the 2nd half of the story. In the end, I have no hesitations in recommending it. It's currently my game of the year and I look forward to continuing playing through!

A Dark RPG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t expecting the variety of gameplay, specifically the sections that have you piloting a ship through a storm of bullets. It has a dark, adult story, and is possibly my favorite RPG story since FFVII. The action is not turned based and requires you to master using both thumb sticks on your controller.

Immaculate gameplay and a articulate story
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The versatility of gameplay in NieR:Automata is impressive, varying from top , side-scroller and 3D view throughout the game. The story is also well thought out with no plot holes to be found. If games with engaging game play and coherent story's interest you, then get this game!!!

Great gameplay and intresting story.

Nier: Automata
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fun game play and story is very heavy. Don't worry about sitting around listening to boring talks, you'll be either fighting robots or enjoying the great looks of the game.
