After reading so many reviews gushing about this game, I finally decided to see what all the hype was about. I honestly knew nothing about it going in, other than the fact that so many people said it was unlike anything they've played. I've honestly never played anything like this game in my life. The game never stops changing styles and keeps morphing into new angles, styles, and genres. I was simply floored in the first ten minutes that it went from a ship shooter ala Galaga to an armored suit shooter along the controls of Geometry Wars then straight into an over the should third person RPG. That was seriously the first ten minutes! I love this game. Every game has a gimmick that the entire game is built around, whereas this game never stops reinventing itself. I didn't know that playing this would make me rethink everything I thought I wanted from a title.

This is one of the greatest games ever released because it could only be a game. The gameplay is great and the thematic story being told outclasses every other game possible. If you were disappointed with the newest metal gear solid games, buy this. You will not regret it

This is a very different game from Platinum, the developers of Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising. It has all the great gameplay, and a really interesting story with quests and a world to explore. Don't just play it once! Make sure to play the story several times to get the real ending.

It would be quite easy to miss this title but you definitely shouldn't! Truly game of the year worthy just remember to play through after the first ending. There's so much depth and detail to the characters and story with the polished action based combat Platinum have been known for.

The games has beautiful soundtrack and great voice acting. It also has great combat system.

Great game, DONT STOP AFTER YOUR FIRST PLAY THROUGH. The story continues! The has 40+hours of gameplay, secret bosses, challenging battles, many different varieties of gameplay to keep you from getting bored. The story though complex is very good, may get at your emotions at times.

Game is one of my favorites of this year. Also this game came way earlier than expected.

NieR Automata tells a really really engaging story and keeps you interested with the boss fights and gameplay in between. The 2nd "path" is a more or less the first with a different character and a new game mechanic so I do think it could be better for just that section of the game but the story picks up after the events of the first and second and goes back to being interesting. Worth a try if you like action games.

A must have hack and slash game with beautiful soundtrack. Definitely worth your money!

Just as expected, top notch graphics, compelling store and the gameplay is phenomenal.

Nier: Automata is a difficult game to describe, as there is nothing on the market like it. Suffice to say it is excellent in every way, with fantastic combat (a Platinum Games staple) and a twisted narrative that will leave you questioning the meaning of a soul.

actions are smooth and you get a mix of a 2.5 scroller and 3D action game in game play

Great story line with multiple endings. The game itself was aesthetically pleasing.

The visuals at times were questionable, the other times were a marvel to look at. The music was always a pleasure to listen to, I cannot think of a single track I didn't want to listen to on repeat. My biggest complaint is the entire game is a giant series of side quests. That is all the game is, a bunch of side quests. Its nothing impressive.

Wow only several hours into the game, unique engaging story and fast-paced action

This game offers a variety of game play styles. Hack and slash mechanics (similar to Drakenguard series) coupled with arcade-style fighter pilot game play. It also has a wide world to explore and a strong story line to enjoy. All in all, a great game.

This game will keep you busy for hours! With multiple endings that require multiple play sessions/completions, and a varied gameplay combat system, you'll be testing your reflexes.

One of the best games I've played in a while...feels like I got 5 games in one!

This game caught my eye, and it's one of the reasons I bought a PS4. The PC port is pretty bad I've heard. The game was a risky buy for me, wasn't sure if I'd like it, but it really blew me away. great soundtrack, great characters, themes, and story.
