This is a great hack and slash with rpg elements...the soundtrack is amazing!

Good looking characters. Not much to say. Just look at the cover or anything.

There's so many layers to Nier's story that unfolds in multiple playthroughs, which can be amazing or just daunting depending on the type of RPG you're looking for. It gives refreshing perspectives between characters in New Game+ and with multiple endings. There are also several camera perspective flips in the game and changes between 3d to a sidescroller, down to a 2d shmup (shoot 'em ups).

What a great game! Bought it after reading reviews and I couldn’t be more glad. Gameplay constantly evolves and keeps you on your toes. The choices you make have an impact on how the story unfolds. I recommend this game to action adventure gamers.

Nier plays like a traditional action game—think Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, God of War. You have a few attack buttons you can build combos with, you have a double jump, and you have a dash button that with good timing can be used to dodge virtually any attack. But Nier isn't just a straight forward action game; it's an open world RPG too. You'll level up through grinding waves of distinct enemy types, pick up side quests along the way through a lengthy main quest line, and customize your character with a horde of weapons and items that can also be leveled up as you progress through the game. It might not actually be structured like a traditional action game, but Nier stands among the greatest games in the genre. And by shifting some of the game mechanics into an open world setting and an RPG, the game feels unique and fresh. It's certainly worth your money.

This is an excellent action RPG game with plenty of side-missions, and the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard. The story plays out across three characters and there are a lot of surprise endings as well. Easily one of the best games of the year.

Nier Automata is an unlikely combination, taking a deep story about the human condition and melding with with elements of an action game and jrpg. Multiple playthroughs create an enriching story while Platinum games continues their action excellence.

This is an excellent hybrid game - part hack and slash, part shoot em up, part RPG. All the elements mix together for one outstanding package. This is a creative game that will bring you back for more with a great, lengthy, story.

Amazing game. I have been a longtime Nier fan since the first game which was released in 2010 for the PS3. Players will enjoy the combat and engrossing story. Returning players will have the "feels" in some parts of the game just out of pure nostalgia.

I loved the first Nier even though the gameplay wasn't great. This sequel improves on the original in every area and thanks to Platinum Games the actual gameplay is a total blast. Amazing story and one of the best games I've played on PS4 this year.

This game is one of the best action games and stories of the generation. Made by the folks who made Metal Gear Revengeance and Bayonetta, this is a great action game and with a crazy and interesting story by the writer of Drakengard and Nier series.

One of the best games for 2016. Easily recommended for its amazingness.
