I had been expecting this game to come out for almost a year and it did not disappoint! It is full of action with some RPG elements. I have not enjoyed a game like I did this in a long time.

The game play is fun and the story is insane. I dont think ive ever used the words existensial nihlism to describe a video game before this (make sure you play through more than once)

Excellent game with fun frantic combat, deliciously disturbing enemies, and a compelling story across multiple play-throughs and endings. An excellent deal at the new lower price range.

Very good action game by Platinum with much better gameplay than Nier (the original), yet keeps the great story and characters you expect from Yoko Taro. Worth playing for all the endings.

Amazing video game. My husband loves playing this game. Watching him play it is pretty cool. The graphics and story line is amazing.

This game is great. The combination of genres from third-person action, to sidescroller, to rail shooter is very enjoyable. I recommend for any fan of Platinum Games.

Really make you think. Bought the game for platinum games, stayed for the story. Menus and soundtrack are really dope too. Stick around for all the endings!

I have had a great time playing this game. The open world is beautiful, the gameplay is deep and challenging, the characters are memorable and the music is great.

Engaging title, great action that continues to unfold even into your third playthrough. Great story, but don't expect to understand it all until you've beaten it a few times.

Nier just keeps you coming back for more. You'll probably finish the game in about 10-20 hours, but then that's just where your adventure begins. Keep playing to get at least endings A,B,C,D and E, you won't regret it. The story line is fantastic, the combat is excellent and it looks amazing on the PS4 Pro.

This game is phenomenal. The gameplay is fun, and the story is amazing. There are many different endings, so the story does not end after the first playthrough; there is much more!

Beautiful game, maybe not as combo heavy like Bayonetta or Wonderful 101, but still really fun. Also has a pretty crazy story--recommend reading up on the general Drakengard series.

Nier is a great Japanese ARPG game. The pictures look great in PS4 and it runs really smooth. I love the storyline and combat, and there is a lot of side quests to do in the game.

This is a game for people that like hack and slash, long playtime, and multitude of endings. It has a high replay value given that there are three stories to play through.

On the surface, Nier: Automata might look like a standard action JRPG. If you read a summary of the basic premise and gameplay, you'll find that many of the usual tropes are present. You could be forgiven for thinking you'll be hacking and slashing through your standard heavy-handed plot and godlike entities by mashing a button or two for 20+ hours. On the surface, the game almost seems like it's trying to affirm those expectations. Almost immediately the game starts to subvert those expectations piece by piece, deconstructing and twisting in on itself until you've abandoned any notion of predictability. The first thing that surprised me about the game was the consistent fluidity of the combat, and how the mechanics seem to hold up even as the game throws new ideas and situations at you. The basic controls and rhythm remain the same as the game forces the perspective of a top-down shooter, or a 2D platformer. These experimental shifts never require you to mentally adapt or use different controls. I've never seen a game transform itself so frequently and effortlessly.

Great game similar to a hack and slash but the story is well put together what you’d expect of a rpg also the game needs to be beaten a few times to get the entire story
