Not too much time spent because of massive backlog and the Nintendo Switch release but man PS4 has had quite a track record for games this year! The week before Horizon Zero Dawn launched and now this... It's an action game developed by Platinum games the action masters, they have a winner in this one!

This game is very addicting and fun to play. It also nice has OST during boss fight. Highly recommend!

I wasn't sure what to expect coming into Nier: Automata, but after playing about 12 hours so far I am in love with this game. It mixes elements of hack 'n slash action games, RPGs, and old-school shooters (think Galaga) into a strange environment with a compelling story. I'd highly recommend it!

Stunning game, awesome world and characters. So much repeatability. Can't recommend highly enough.

This game surprised me at every turn, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Now I'm working my way through new game + to see all of the different endings and work towards the platinum. If you're on the fence about this game, do yourself a favor and buy it...you won't regret it.

I bought this for my son for Christmas after playing the demo and he still loves, even more so.

Fun gameplay with deep combat system. Crazy story will appeal to anime fans. Overall beautiful and worth checking out.

Started playing this game the day I got it, and its got a great combat system. Love it so far!

I first downloaded the demo and immediately ran down to Best buy after about 20mins of playing the demo. It is soooo far different than any other game I have ever played. Try the demo and see for yourself. This is an absolute gem of a game.

Nier Automata has a unique quality to it. The graphics and design set the perfect tone for the game. The variety of 2D and 3D gameplay along with shooting and hack & slash sections will keep you busy. Not to mention the multiple endings and lengthy campaign. Definitely pick it up!

Nier is a wonderful game to play on the PS4. The futuristic setting and plot are a blast to play for. The gameplay is smooth and engaging. I love that there are a variety of styles the game takes on. This is one of the most unique games that has come out in a while - check it out!

Holding off on buying this game on black friday paid off as the game was cheaper afterwards. Love the game mechanics specially the artful graphics. A bit clunky in the camera angles but otherwise a great rpg from the same makers of the final fantasy series.

This is very much a JRPG but also is an action RPG. So I guess it's a JARPG? It feels kind of like the more recent Final Fantasy games (XII, XIII, I haven't played XV yet), but with less characters and drama and more action and fighting. It's also shorter. This is not a 100 hour game. This is a good thing in my book. With my growing backlog of games I don't like triple-digit-hour slogs through grind-fest dungeons just to feel like I completed the game. The fighting mechanics' learning curve is rather steep and can take a bit of getting used to. Timing and aim is very important and ALL of your fingers will be very busy. I like the chip upgrade system. You have to figure out what perks are most important and learn to give up things you can do without. The better the perk the more room it costs, though. It's all a trade off but much more interesting than the overused skill tree or armor/weapon abilities. Overall it's a great game that's well worth your time.

Perfect mix of action, rpg, and everything else. Borrows bits from many genres but it works!

The story is amazing. To fully enjoy this game, try to avoid spoilers. Everything about this game is great. This game is one of those "must play" games. I haven't had any problems with this game, or any negative issues. This game is a good contender for GOTY along Horizon.
