While I can see why some may initially feel that the combat is simply a repetitive square mashing endeavor, but once you realize that every weapon has a different amount of heavy and light attack combos and that there are a plethora of different weapons to collect, the world really opens up. The first two routes are just an intro into the beautiful insanity of Yoko Taro's world.
