Platinum Games made this game so it should already give you a feeling of either great disappointment or supreme product. For Automata, it is the latter. This action RPG is apparently the sequel to Nier that I don't think many people played because it wasn't good. The gameplay is very good and it is a gamer's game.

One of the most creative and satisfying games to come out in years. Fluid controls and huge replayability. Absolutely incredible soundtrack as well. Do yourself a favor and don't skip this gem if a game.

I'm just a casual gamer, but I loved this game. It's different than a lot of the open world games this year. The combat is really fun, the music is great, and the story is engaging. What else do you want?

During the Black Friday rush, I picked up this game on an impulse and I'm glad I did. I personally like the art-style and story and there are a few different game mechanics along with choices you can make which will result in alternative endings. Recommend for anyone into games with a good story.

I started this game in July this year and played for just under an hour. I didn't really stick and I was a tad confused. Fast forward to this summer and decided to push a little further and couldn't stop playing until I was done! It's an amazing mix of play styles paired with an incredible soundtrack, and finally the story wraps this thing up as complete. I don't want to give anything away, but there are "multiple" endings you can achieve. My advice is: keep playing until you reach the "shooter game credits" at the end. That's all I'm saying and you will know what I mean when you get there :)

One of the more unique games you will ever play. You have to play 3 separate times to get the full story. And we're not talking about playthroughs where its the same game with just a choice at the end to get a different ending. You will get ending A your first time. Your second trip, you play through as your partner character who has a few different scenarios and his own story. Finally, your third playthrough introduces a new character and is basically it's own sequel with an entirely new narrative. The story itself is fascinating sci-fi with a ton of truly memorable moments. As for the game itself, the combat is fun and fluid, the soundtrack is wonderful, and you're looking at a meaty game with at least 25-30 hours for all 3 playthroughs. I took off a point because the enemies could use a bit more variety, and movement through the environments is too slow and cumbersome (you eventually get the ability to move faster and quick-transport to certain areas of the map, but it needed to happen sooner). Overall its a great game, and highly recommended for anyone who wants a hack and slash type game that is much more unique than others.

This game is very very Japanese which means that its completely bonkers in the best way possible. Where western developers embrace a more realistic approach to video games, the Japanese use the medium to create insane worlds, characters, and scenarios. This game seamlessly blends multiple genres into a polished highly addictive package. At its core Nier Automata is a brilliant hack and slash game with rpg elements, however, it morphs into a side scrolling action game, top down space shooter as smoothly as any game that has ever tried to blend multiple genres. Awesomely weird story and characters, smooth and addictive gameplay and deep RPG elements. This game is a winner!

IM GLAD I GOT THIS GAME FOR 25 BUCKS ON BLACK FRIDAY I WAS N STORE FOR OVER AN HOUR TRYNA LOOK FOR THE GAME CAUSE IT WAS LAST COPY MY STORE HAD LOL OVERALL I AM TRULY AMAZED AT HOW THE GAME IS STYLISH LANDSCAPING AND GREAT ACTION IN IT ASWELL ITS A MUST HAVE FOR TRUE SQUARE ENIX FANS!!!!

I am still only about a third of the way through the game and loving every minute of it. The story is bizarre in the kind of way that makes you want to keep playing to figure it all out but also kind of makes you not want to figure it all out so the game can live on that much longer.

Game is extremely fun with responsive controls. The artwork and level design is incredible, with an atmosphere soundtrack. Storyline has depth and the characters are very likable.

Really awesome and amazing game. Story is breathtaking, fighting controls are good, and good graphics. If you want a fun and exciting game. Look at buying this game for yourself.

Without giving too much away, the Nier story has been very interesting and heart breaking as well. The story is filled to the brim and game play is great and depends if you’re a Completionist, might take you little time to finish the game or a lot longer. There’s 26 endings for this game. YES, 26! Some are silly, some are non-canon, and some offer a different prospective to the story and characters as well. Lastly at the very end of the game/credits, when it asks you ‘if you’re sure’, it means it 100%, no kidding!

Nier Automata. After spending 3 hours on hard mode in order to beat the tutorial. I have realized how challenging, but amazing and fun this game is. It was totally worth spending the 3 hours attempting it on hard mode, as I learned the basic mechanics of the game well, and it was not just a breeze to run through. It could get annoying at times with no save points, but as you learn the game more and more, you are able to get further through it easier and quicker until finally beating it. From there on, I have only played a little bit, but the game has caught my interest. I dread not being able to play and dive into the game more.

This game is a very unique blended project involving Platinum Games and Square Enix. They crafted an interesting and creepy world for you to play in. The action in this game is intense and the visuals are stunning. There is a lot of game here. Highly recommended!

Sure, it's easy to forget about Nier: Automata amongst all the hype surrounding the other late Q1 titles such as Horizon, Mass Effect, and Wildlands. But don't. Nier somehow strikes the perfect mixture of Final Fantasy, the Souls series/Bloodborne, and action games such as Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden. The story is engrossing, the combat is enthralling, and the stakes for death are high. If you enjoy any of the titles mentioned previously and don't mind reading text old-school style to keep up with the story, then you'll certainly enjoy your journey through Nier's captivating campaign, which offers plenty of surprises.

The action sequences, the graphics, the world itself and controls are awesome... one of the excellent games out there for PS. Totally recommend it!

Nier: Automata is a solid action RPG that focuses on a group of androids in a desolate world. For those not familiar with the Nier series (or its predecessors), the game has multiple replays (called routes), with each revealing more and more of the story in order to answer questions on reality and self. Those unfamiliar with the series may be caught off guard by the need for multiple replays of the game, but it maintains the series tradition of having the craziest and grandest scale events up to the conclusion.

Nier Automata is a great experience. Fun gameplay, interesting story. A must play for all PS4 owners.

I was skeptical about this game before I bought it. I've never played anything like it and didn't really know what I was getting into. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is, and there's so many hours to put into this game. One of the best games of 2017.
