    very clear camera video/pictures. Easy to setup/mount. the app is easy to use. My biggest issue is that the app or the hard drive(via hooking the box up to my TV) wont let you delete individual videos. I've asked the night owl customer service and the only option for erasing video is to erase everything from the hard drive. With setting up the cameras all around my home 3/4 of the power cables weren't long enough to reach an outlet. I had to buy power cable extensions. another CON(i can somewhat tolerate), when playing video clips is that while replaying there isn't a smooth transition when clicking at a different time stamp. There is a bit of a buffer before the video continues to play. I don't have them setup directly exposed to rain but so far they have been holding up.

    I bought this system because of the good reviews which must be bought and paid for. The first system i bought and installed was great until the NVR quit working on the 12 day. I got lucky and Best Buy replaced it because it was not past the 15th day of purchase. I went home and reinstalled all of the system and it worked OK until now about 3 1/2 months after replacement. The problems now are that the nvr will not stay connected to the internet no matter what i do. All of the other electronics i my home are connected to the internet and are working fine , so i know its not the internet from my local provider. So unfortunately i will be purchasing future electronics from another outlet and there are plenty and RECCOMENDING A DIFFERENT BRAND OF SECURITY SYSTEM.

    It's nice to be able to see what's going on when you're not there. It's good to have the activity around my dwelling recorded so I can go back and see what happened or didn't happen. The 4K resolution is questionable. The recorded activity defined by the recorder, sometimes will say "human detected" but when you play it back, there's nothing moving and of course, no human. In other words, it's not perfect, hence the 3 stars. The android app glitches from time to time also. Set up was somewhat difficult.

    I was disappointed with the previous cameras I had bought 3 years ago, they were Arlo. They kept on disconnecting and even with a wifi extender would constantly drop, and they were oversensitive with detection. The Night Owl Cameras came out great with feed, audio, alarm, and relatively easy setup but the range is disappointing! Worse than the Arlo, I could put it down the driveway and it would still work, even if it disconnected itself during the day. The night owls have not dropped or disconnected on us but can't be put out on a large range, our hose is 3,600 sq ft and from one side of the house where the hard drive and wifi router are located, it won't reach past the midpoint of the house, the cameras will not connect. I've tried adjusting the antenna it has to no avail, I've also moved the wifi extender and for some reason, it will not make a difference. If they had better connection distance then it is a 5-star product and I'd buy 8 more but at this point, I might sacrifice and buy new Arlo ones to put at further distances.

    These cameras work great. They catch everything going on in area. They can be finicky at times depending on the strength of your internet. Love the detail they catch. Great for when something happens and the police need more evidence.

    I had this system in Sep 2022. Installing wasn’t a problem but how its working was. They said wireless range is 300ft, but it isn’t true. I installed cameras in the front, side and the back of my house. The camera in the front porch couldn’t connect the hub on 2nd floor, it’s about 60ft away. I move the hub to 1st floor to get closer (40-50ft), it works unstable. It sometimes connected and sometimes didn’t. Usually if I restart the hub it works but then it may stop working anytime. If I move the hub closer to the front then the back camera won’t connect. So it’s a painful. The thing is, my house is not that big (under 80ft) so the range isn’t that far from the hub to the cameras. Now, the front camera is working randomly, on and off, and I can’t check recorded events from that camera. The problem happened from the first time I installed it. But I couldn’t return because I installed it over 14 days after I got it.

    Good security system a little expensive, the quality of view is great. Just for the price the technology could be better, This should have wireless internet hook up and Should be viewed on multiple smart tvs without HDMI hook up! Overall I am pleased with the system..

    NVR system will not record motion ,humans, face etc. Called tech support and they WILL NOT troubleshoot the issue. The ONLY fix they will tell you to do is reset the entire system and format the hard drive. I have had my camera for a few months now and have formatted and reset my system 7 times already and still does not work. Their tech support knows nothing about the cameras or the DVR. 100% chance you will know more about the system than they do when you call. I am stuck with a camera system where only the live view works.

    I bought this product for the desktop viewing ability. When it wasnt working I messaged support and they told me this was a known issue and they had been working on it for a while. No resolution date.

    I wanted a DVR. I don't want cameras to only be on wifi. Seems dangerous. These you use wifi to set up, and then you can disconnect from wifi and then it records. You gotta protect your property. If you'd decide to leave connected you can check on your phone out of town. I do this for concerts.

    I bought this to replace the Arlo Ultra system that I bought to complement my Nest cams. I bailed on Arlo because the only way to get 4k video from the base station is by removing the SD card, and that was a no-no for me). I've only had this setup installed for a day and I like it so far. There are plenty of good reviews about this kit already, so I will just add a couple of things I wish I knew beforehand (although I am not returning this). 1. There is a Night Owl Protect app you can use on your mobile device, but you HAVE to use the NVR connected to a TV or Monitor to get access to all the features (maybe that's standard for NVR setups). I asked support when the app would be updated to support these features and was told "there are no updates planned". My NVR is behind my monitor in my office so it's not a big deal for me to flip HDMI inputs to manage the system. They do have a computer app for Windows and Mac, but I haven't used that much. My first impression wasn't good; it's slow and I saw (Not Responding) way too much. In fact, I tried it again right now and had to kill the process. 2. You cannot adjust the cameras side-to-side, just up and down. This means you have to ensure your camera is pointed in the right direction before securing it. This can be challenging when mounting to something like a tree. The Arlo cameras are on a ball joint so can swivel any which way. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. 3. There doesn't appear to be an easy way to share a stream, but since this is a security device, that is (maybe) to be expected. You can have other people install the app and connect, but I was looking for something a little simpler e.g., the system Nest uses to share a single camera stream. I use my cameras primarily for watching wildlife, not security, and I like to share some cameras with my parents back home. I can do that very easily with the Nest cameras, but not the Night Owl. My parents are ancient and clicking on a web link is about as much as I would burden them with (forget about installing/configuring a mobile device app - my Dad's mobile device is from 1940). The NVR comes with a 1 TB drive and I have set the cameras to record constantly. I have a 4 TB WD purple on the way so I can record more (I have 4 cameras and I want them to record 24/7). If I find something interesting, I can download the event and share the video with my family.
