    Great camera system but.......

    Had system for about two years with no issues. Loved the image quality and everything. I forgot my password and made a call to tech support to help reset my forgotten password as I did a few times prior without any issues..... this time the customer rep told me that I needed to do a update on the system.... as they walked me through the update my whole tv screen went blank and no longer recieved anything on the tv screen other than a image of their white owl logo. The password reset and the update never happened. What they had me do took my camera images away and left me only to have a white owl image on the screen! The customer rep said that they would escalate my service ticket but no one called me back. I have made several calls with service telling me that they would get back to me but they never call back with a fix... no call back. I have been more than patient and waisted so much repeating the problem even though I give them my ticket numbers on what happened. Very disappointed to have a system that no longer works due to their tech walking me through their update just to reset a password!!! They even told me what I needed to email to their warranty department as if it was going to be replaced but nothing has been resolved to date. It now has been over 6 months...... unacceptable to be ignored by Night Owl.

      Hi Melajane. I am sorry to hear you have had difficulty with a warranty claim for your Night Owl product. They likely instructed you to update the firmware, because the new firmware has a password reset option built into it. This allows a temporary password to be emailed to the email on file when needed. Regarding your warranty claim, please email [email protected] with a brief description of what has occurred (like in your review) and your name and best contact phone number.     i got this cameras thinking the 1080 p was going to be nice , well first the night vision is terrible to much white can't even see anything i relocate the cameras from position to different areas and still the same I'm retuning the cameras

    Deplorable Tech Support!

    Night Owl has the worst customer swrvice I’ve ever experienced! I have 3 systems at 3 different locations. All have been down for the past 7 days! After holding on the phone for an hour the tech informs me that there was an update issue. Three days later and it’s still not resolved! This is my second experience with Night Owl customer service / tech support in the past 6 months and both have been deplorable. Get a system that invests in better tech support

    ur not the only one that has access to your dvr

    dont use these night owl has access to the system. i was going over the log and i see where it has been connected via wifi but there is no way on my dvr to connect to wifi the only it gives me is hard wired connection. I've had this system for over a year and it only does so much when ever i have called in to get help with trouble shooting there is a few things that let know that they can see everything the dvr is doing one thing that let know me know this when i went to reboot the dvr as soon as it was done they said ok now that you are back up and running lets check this or that. i was like how did you know that oh i just guess that it done this has happen on more than once. when they are connected to my dvr it shows icons that on a normal day i would not see. You cant make any change to the admin name to make a little more safe.

    WORSE SECURITY SYSTEM.. APP DOESNT WORK AT ALL. ENDED UP TAKING BACK TOOK THE $400+ AND WENT SHOPPING.. DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING TO ANYONE.. PICK ANY BRAND BUT NIGHTOWL. DONT JUST TAKE MY ADVUCE, GO READ THE BB REPORTS

    Technical Support Not Good

    Installed system and one camera started failing to pick up motion. Technical support had me do a few things then said "check in 15 minutes" and I think that is their "go to" phrase when they want the customer off the phone. Happened twice. I then called back and the guy told me to delete that camera which I did, then he proceeds to tell me that I have to disconnect the camera and bring it in the house to pair with the NVR. Hmmm. He could have mentioned that before having me delete it so now I have no protection at the most critical part of my house. I would have deferred doiing that at a later date so that I would still have the footage and live. Thanks a lot sir. You have just put me in jeopardy. Don't buy this system. It's not worth it,

    Do not buy. Two separate systems in two different places and camera do not last. The customer service is "TERRIBLE" , a lot of bug in the apps for cell, recordings do not work!!!

    Do not buy, cameras do not last. Two separate systems in two different places and camera do not last. Should call it Night Owl Disposable Cameras. Company would not stand by product or customer. Terrible. Worked great in the beginning but not very long.

    Fascinating for first timers! Poor !!!! Broken during installation! Always glitchy !!! Randomness, ringing and popping, blank screens,stops working, still frames white screen, black screen, blurry a lot!!!!! What’s the point of having security cameras that play back garbage that you can’t hear because of glitchy recording! Sends loud wind noise through to max and blow speakers!!!! The company tells me I should delete to make room, but shouldn’t it be doing it by itself!!!! Really!!! I’m not into that

    If you are in the need of a surveillance system don't get this one, it's not that easy to playback! My husband has a small business and we decided to replace the surveillance cameras and got this one, affordable price. But now I regret it!!! First of all, to playback is not that simple and if you need customer service to help you with something well they basically don't have customer service, they keep putting yo off, so yeah, just try something other than this system, it's my advice! We are stuck unless we want to thow our money away!!

    I would give night owl 0 stars if I could. Their customer service sux. I’ve had 8 camera wired professionally installed only 4 cameras work. Night owl sent me a power pack that doesn’t even work and I don’t think it’s the right one for the system I have. I have been trying to contact them to get this problem fixed to no avail. Do not waste your money. I’m out lots of money!!!

    I had an incident occur to my property and cannot get a hold of anyone on the technical support side . They advertise 24/7 support and they have made themselves impossible to reach . I had an unfortunate incident occur to my property and can’t view the footage nor receive any type of assistance .

    Incredibly complicated setup

    We've had this system for a few years. We have been able to use it a couple weeks in all those years. If the power goes off, the system resets. Names, ID is needed, password, scan of some code... I'm ready to trash the thing and pay some company for a useful product.

    this surveillance system is good for androids, tv, but not for pc's it freezes, no selections on zoom and just sit there and watch me It badly needs an upgrade on PC monitoring
