Not my favorite lens but okay. I prefer f2.8 or higher. Great lens for beginners. Good alternative to kit lens for those just starting out but again not my fav, especially since I prefer a good bokeh .

I have had great success with sigma lens before so i should have stayed with sigma.

Posted .This AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens has a maximum aperture of 3.5 when at 18mm and of 5.6 when at 140mm. For a lens with that can open up to f/1.8 look for one with f/1.8 or f/1.4 in its name. For example the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens, AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED Lens AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens, and the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens can all go to f/1.8 .
