Lense does is little slow for me in autofocusing. I already have a Canon 2.8 70 to 200 lense that is awesome...so I bought a Canon 70D instead.

A no-nonsense lens that is compact enough to fit a small camera bag or purse. The small design still has the ability to support clear pics when in 200 mode.

I would say this lense is mediocre. I am an avid photographer and this just doesn't do enough.

    Best Lens EVER!

I order the lower cost lens the 55mm-200mm. It was ok, everything about it was nice, but you can feel it was cheaply made. Don't get me wrong, its a good lens for the price. I feel it wasn't the right lens for me. So I return it and got this one 18-200mm. OMG what a differents, going from a 52mm to 72mm, and the quality of the lens is nice. Everything about this len is nice. the only down fall of it, is its abit heavy, but you can't deny quality!

Great Lens - All In One Solution

This lens is awesome. Yes, it is more expensive than the 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens combined but it has to be because it's doing much more than both of those lenses for its focal range. The pictures are sharp. The lens is quick. People have complained about lens creep (when the camera is pointed down, the lens "creeps" and extends itself) but this does not happen to my lens. When I retract it to 18mm, it stays put. The cam lock for the lens is in an easy position so I use it anyway just to be safe. The weight of the lens is nice and balanced. Not a super light lens like a 35mm prime but not totally out of whack either. I'm extremely pleased with this lens. It's on my camera 90% of the time and I use a 35mm prime while shooting low light indoors. The image quality of this lens at low light is good but the 35mm is faster so if I have a better lens for the situation, I'm going to use it. Definitely a great buy and I'm very happy with it.

The Only Lens You May Ever Need !

    - I bought it for my new Nikon D7000. - Very good image quality - little need for post processing with Photoshop. - Best dedicated Nikon DX zoom lens covering the most used focal range (approx 27mm - 300mm in full-frame, 35mm terms), making rather unnecessary to change it too often. Macro, wide coverage, and low light needs may prompt switching to another lens. - Greater zoom range and better construction and durability compared with the 18-105mm DX kit lens, still not much bigger or heavier. - Fast auto-focus and good image stabilization when shooting in burst mode. - Use a (Nikon, B&W, or Hoya) 72mm clear filter for protection ! - Negatives ? Costs more than twice the kit lens, but, a good camera deserves a good lens - as it happens,I got mine for half the price using longtime saved Best-Buy Reward Zone Points !

This lens avoids carrying multiple lenses separately for indoor and outdoor shooting. 18-55mm is adequate for indoor shooting and 55-200 has enough zoon for the outdoors. Clarity of the pictures is great.

I purchased it about 6months ago and now this is my 2nd favorite lens to the 35mm 1.8G. I carry this one most of the time on my D7000. Great outside focal range for most of my needs. The pictures are sharp and the colors are beautiful. Nothing to complain about. I took it to New Yrok City for a day trip and the set up was a little heavy to carry around all day but the great pics I got made up for it. I would recommend buying it.
