This is a good "walk the city" lens. On my D7100 it gives me good quality photos with good bokeh when I want it.

Upon the recommendation of a friend to try a fixed focal length lens to improve my photography skills, this lens was among 4 others that I considered. I am certainly glad that I listened, as it has forced me to work much harder on the composition of the scene, and the results have been rewarding. The lens is fast, and the range of the depth of field is amazing.

I bought this as a replacement lens after reading several reviews. It fits the camera well and is lightweight. It takes crisp, clear photos. The only con for me is that you cannot zoom with this lens. Otherwise, it is a great addition to my camera.

This lens does an amazing job and picking up stars that aren’t visible to the eye. Sure a zoom feature would be great (that’s why there are other lenses), but this one does the job. Its focus effects during the day time for portaits are mindblowing! Using a D3200 and had the stock 18-55mm lens and this was a big upgrade. Definitely recommend to those who are interested in low light shots

This fast, light DX lens is all you really need. For close-ups, get closer. For everything else, backup. Its internal AF operates ridiculously fast, but you can still grab the ring and manually override it. Images are sharp, sharp, sharp--even wide open. The 18-55mm kit lens is great, but this lens beats it out in just about everything at a great price.

Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Standard Lens: Whether you're a beginner or professional, you'll love this compact, lightweight lens from Nikon. The normal angle of view captures approximately what the human eye sees, making it a great all-around lens. Plus, the f/1.8 maximum aperture is ideal for creating softly blurred backgrounds and shooting in low light.

I was looking for a prime lens for my D 3400 and came across this little boy. I was confused between the 50mm and this one and ended up buying it after a live hands on session with one of the experts at BestBuy Akron. The sharpness of the images it takes is amazing. The bokeh is amazing. I am using it whenever and wherever possible and it is surprising me with every use. Great lens.

This is a fantastic first prime lens to buy after you've mastered the kit lens. I love the wide aperature which gives me beautifully blurred backgrounds while keeping my subject tack sharp. This lens has a similar field of view as a 50mm lens when used on a DX or cropped frame camera. I primarily shoot food photography with a Nikon d3200.

I am new to the fancy cameras and read a few articles suggesting this lens as a go-to for newborn photos. I purchased the camera in order to take pictures of my new baby and this was my first sense beyond the one that comes with the camera kit I bought. I am very happy with it an have captured some very professional looking pictures after googling some info on manual settings! Just what I was looking for

This lens has been a very good added addition to the other lenses that we use. I almost, only, use this lens now. I work with kids and taking pictures with this lens is great since it has the auto focus feature. It allows me to take crisp pictures more easily. The lens is not bulky and does not way down my camera. For close up, and very clear, pictures this lens is truly worth it's price.
