Just the lens I was looking for.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a number of zoom lens ranging from 18 to 300 mm. But I wanted a fast, single focal length lens for portrait and indoor use that was light and fast to use. Even though it is 35 mm, in DX format that bring it up to roughly a 50 mm standard focal length. For me it was a great choice.

Phenomenal Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my Nikon D5200. I've been using the Nikon kit lens for years because I just did not have enough extra money to get lenses. But I am blown away by this 35mm f1.8 lens by Nikon. I love the bokeh and the quality of photos that I take with this. The lens is also very durable! Well worth the $199 price tag!

Amazingly small and powerful lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this lens. I was confused between the 50mm and this 35mm. But i wanted to shoot landscape and cityscapes and hence this was a perfect choice. I love the bokeh it produces at wide open and the sharpness of the photos and amazing night portraits i can shoot with this lens. For the price i think everyone should have one of these in their camera bag.

Awesome lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am just a mom taking pictures of her kids and of my family so I didn’t want to spend over $1000 for a lens. This lens was recommended to me as a great alternative to the 35mm 1.4 and I have to say that I love the quality of it. You can get a nice amount on bokeh (when desired) and you can also get clean and crisp pictures.

Good entry level, but struggling to focus closeups
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this lens for my Crop sensor Nikon d3400. I bought this lens with lot of dilemma like should I upgrade my camera before start adding lens to my entry level camera. I wanted to get 50mm, but that would be 75mm after crop factor. So I bought this lens and It is very good. Day light and evening shots are coming really nice. The bokeh is also good. However it is struggling to focus for close up shots and dark object in night shots. So I am still in dilemma to continue or return.

It was just what i needed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the 50mm and it got the job done for my outdoor pictures but this one is much better for indoor use. Beautiful quality images and easy to use. I think every photographer needs this lens. Sharp image, soft backgrounds. It's best for portrait photography.

Outstanding Lens
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for use with my D500. I am very impressed with the quality and performance of this lens at the price point, The AF is extremely fast and accurate in good light but noticeable slower in lower light. The images are tack sharp. At 1.8 the bokeh is nice. Would recommend for DX users.

Great lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I’m fairly new to photography I must say this lens takes beautiful photos. The bokeh it’s produced is amazing it’s somthing that neither of my kit lenses will produce. For the price of $169.99 you can’t beat this lense. It’s a must have prime lense for the price and quality of photos you can produce.

Great for aperture mode
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased my Nikon 3100, I wasn't happy to find that the standard lens didn't allow aperture settings. I did some research and found this lens to have great reviews and be cost efficient. I purchased and am so happy I did! It makes taking professional looking pics easy! The backgrounds are blurred and the pics look great!

Great Associate!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On 9/11 I purchased this item. Julian was the associate who assisted us with the purchase. Thanks to Julian I saved time and investment in a lenses that would not work with my current camera body. I had wanted to buy a 35mm/1.4 wide angle lenses; which would not be a great benefit to me with my current base. For this reason I bought the 1.8 which will benefit me for the time being. Julian has so much knowledge and was able to compare the Sony cameras with Nikon. I look forwarded to transition to Sony soon and with his help I am decided on one already! Thank you Julian for all your help and all the information you provided. Great listener, knowledgeable, lots of patience, and descriptive. When I am ready for my Sony camera I know who I will reach out too.

Great crisp pictures
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a new mom who wants pictures of EVERY moment. I bought my first camera other than just point and click a nikon D3300 with a lens package. This lens was my first lens I purchased since and I've loved it. I seldom use the others I got with the camera. Beautiful details and I love that I can use it indoors and low lighting.

Good Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since I am still new at using a DSLR, I think I still have trouble understanding exactly what this lens is best for. It is very good with depth of field and low lighting. It can take very crisp images with good lighting and within a few foot range. From the reviews I have read, images I have seen, and images I have taken specific to this lens, it is good for portrait photos and images within about 0'-6"-3'-0" range. Looking forward to getting to know this lens better.

Fantastic Prime Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great lens, which I have mounted on my Nikon D3300 camera. The AF works great, and the low f stop is great for low light photography, and for sharp images of a primary subject with a blurred background. This is a great affordable general purpose lens.

Great lens on APS-C and good lens on Full Frame
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s great for lowlight shooting on aps-c cameras like my Nikon d7200. I am also using on my full frame Nikon d750 and it take great pictures BUT it has a lot of vignette in the corners when I use it on full frame. You can always take care of that in post production though.

Nice lens well worth the cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is a great buy for those times when you want to take a picture in a little less light than you need for the kit lens that comes with most DX cameras. The pictures I've taken are sharp with great colors and contrast. Plus it's just fun carrying a little less weight around looking for photo ops thru a 35mm lens.

Good Prime Lens to Have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A good prime lens to use with your Nikon DSLR is important to have. With this lens you have a fast fixed lens with a decent field of view. It is a small lens so if you are going to carry just the camera without a bag, this lens allows for a lighter camera and without a long telephoto zoom lens hanging from the camera.

Great all purpose lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great low light lens. It's a must own lens if you take a lot of indoor pictures. Great lens for taking portraits or pictures of the night sky. Very fast focus and light weight lens. You can not beat the price for lens which takes excellent pictures. It comes with a metal mount; not plastic like some inexpensive lenses.

Good lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do automotive photography specifically with occasional portraits. This is my go to lens right now. It's great for both, can do close up photos and it looks anazing, same with a little distance. Bokeh is nice, very sharp. It's a little slow on autofocus which makes moving subjects a little more difficult to get tack sharp but it is definitely not slow. Highly recommend for all around shooting.
