I wanted to have a small amount of lenses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the lenses are priced right I will buy more, the more of an assortment I have that way I can be ready for anything. But the next time I am interested in buying I hope I do not have to go find someone. Nobody was in the camera area and I virtually had to yell out for somebody to come and help. The product is OK but the service SUCKED.

Got it in great deal !!!!

love it.......but.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great lens as expected from nikon, sharp crisp images with great bokeh. Compact design and light weight. The lens gets 4 stars but over all for the price it should come with the hood and lens pouch that is pictured and says its included but it doesn't so i only gave 3. So now after spending $350.00 on the lens i now have to go and buy a hood for it. Shaking my head nikon.

Very Light Weight - Great Photos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This very light weight zoom lens covers the traditional 35mm film camera range of 85mm to 300mm. At the wide end, using f/4 to blur the background, it is a fine lens for close up head and shoulders portraits. Fully zoomed out, you can get a great photo of the runner stealing second base or details on the bell tower of an old church 200 feet above you. The sharpest results are at f/5.6 and f/8 at the wide end and at f/8 and f/11 when fully extended. The VR II vibration reduction lets you take sharp photos of non-moving subjects using very slow shutter speeds, such as 1/50th of a second. For sports action or a running deer, you need a fast 1/1000 or 1/2000 shutter speed as VR II vibration reduction helps only to correct minor camera movement: it can NOT "freeze" the movement of your subject. The plastic build and plastic mount make this a rather fragile lens. Take your time to carefully mount the lens correctly to avoid damage to the mount. Avoid using it where the wind is blowing lots of dust or salt spray. If you are gentle with it, this lens will provide years of good service. It has a very low price, but when used correctly, it will provide photos that match the quality of lenses that cost five times as much.
