    Purchased this lens especially for a trip to Africa, and it worked great. Got lots of beautiful, closeup shots of animals without disturbing them. Worked well in early morning and evening light. The lens was easy to use and carry.

    I got this lens on a whim the day before leaving for an Alaskan cruise and it has quickly become my new favorite lens. It takes gorgeous photos, much better than I expected for this price point. Perfect for the wildlife and nature photography that I enjoy!

    The lens belonged to a combo purchase with Nikon D7000 and a 18-140mm lens. I am amazed with the close-up capability and picture clarity with the lens. Even as an amateur of using DSLR, I would say that the speed of auto focusing could be speedier. BTW, the 55-300mm lens broke (malfunctioning auto focus) within a month, but Bestbuy gave me a replacement. Excellent service!
