I bought this for a photography class. Absolutely gorgeous photos and great zoom. Brings out the best in all my photos.

Its a pretty decent lens especially if its in a package deal which mine was. It's a bit slow to focus. If you can afford it... go for the 70-300mm one. That one is certainly faster.

You have to understand that I'm a novice and photography is a hobby. I moved up to this lens about 2 months ago and have taken maybe 100 shots with it. Long range clarity is superior to my 200 mm lens. Another way of saying it, the clarity is as good as one could ever expect for a lens in this price category. To a novice, this lens does everything perfectly. It has features I will never use, so I can never give a professional rating, but from my level of knowledge it's a five star.

My wife loves this telephoto lens for all of its versatility. It can easily shoot close and great distances. It's lightweight with a great hood. Just avoid the extremes and you will have great photos.

the best long range distance lens you can get without going into the thousand dollar plus range . And I only use Nikon there the very best ,my work always looks great. People are amazed when they see my pics, specially if there matted and framed.

Do your homework and investigate lenses before you buy. At a given BestBuy store, Nikon and Cannon are across from each other which makes selection and comparison fairly easy. I got this in a package deal with the camera. The lens works well and the zoom does not distort images. For the novice, it's an excellent lens to capture at longer distances and great quality.

This is a good lens to in my collections. I have been taking photos of airplanes and it gets very close to the subject and focuses fast. Very good at blurring background. Reasonable price

The zoom capability of this lens is awesome. I used this lens to take pictures of Denali in Alaska, I was miles away, with the zoon it looked like I was standing on top of the mountain.
