It is literally impossible to take a bad picture with this lens. The vibration reduction is great with up to 4 stops makes hand holding at 500mm possible with even slower shutter speeds. I highly recommend this lens.

Sharp, 500mm reach and a max F-stop of 5.6; great glass and a great price. A little weak on focus response, which is why I gave it three stars...nothing in this world is perfect!

I love this lense! It works great for me to take wildlife or scenery photos. As expected it's BIG and heavy. So of course you'll have to use a tripod or at least a monopod. Perfect for me!

Great lens, Tamron and Sigma are cheaper but quality comes into question after 3 years. Nikons will last awhile and have great resale value.

A good lens for the 24 megapixel Full frame cameras. Best used with a tripod. Different market than the 80-400. So have fun and take pictures.

As an amature, this lens gives me more flexibility to explore the nature and to see the things I would like to see.
