This is the first standard lens I've purchased. It produces very, very good pics. I'm still learning it's capability but know enough to recommend it. If useful, I use it with my Nikon D-5000.

Although a bit expensive is a great lens. Great in low light and I love the bokeh it achieves!

I purchased this lens for portraits and wedding photography. I love the apature that this lens has. The focus is nice also. The only thing I have not got used to yet is the distance that you have to maintain between your objects that you are shooting.

What can I say. The proof is in the gorgeous portrait photographs we take with this lense. It only takes a few minutes to learn how to use it. We also bought the Nikkor 85mm portrait lens thinking that they were interchangeable and we would return the "better" one. After using both lenses for a couple of weeks we've found that they each have their unique use.

This is a great lens with excellent depth of field. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great 50mm.

I replaced my 50mm f/1.4D with this 1.4G. The 1.4G is sharper and has better contrast

marvellous lens, beautiful results with neat depht of field.

If I could have only one prime lens for my D7500 this would be it.

I got this lens to take photos of products on display for print/web. It's my most used lens.

It has a narrow depth of view at wide open aperture settings.

Exceeded my expectations with its low light and bokeh capabilities. It fit great in my D850. Head mention that only because I returned the $219 1.8f 50mm lens because it was so tight it wouldn’t fit and I didn’t want to force it.

Although this lens is for a full frame camera, it still kicks butt on an crop sensor camera. At f/1.4 it still lets in plenty of light and creates some very nice bokeh. This lens has been great for street and portrait photography.

This prime 50mm 1.4g performs phenomenally, has nothing to envy its $2000 brother.
