best 50mm for the buck, crazy sharp, 1.8 is good for low light and to use for a shallow DoF and in my oppinion is the best lens to start with for a DX body, so you learn how to possition your self.

I took the plunge and bought this lens when I saw it on sale. It's a great lens for portraits, and the 1.8 aperture makes it a great lens to take almost everywhere!

I have to say one of the best portrait lens for the money. f1.8 does the job you could get the f1.4 lens for dbl the money. Trust me this lens gets the job done.

Loved the lens for Bokeh and love it a lot. Fixed focal length with A/M & M focus adjustment of which I use A/M mode. Good results with portraits as well as landscape.

This will probably be my most used lenses it looks to be higher quality when compared to the kit lenses that come with the camera

it is an amazing lens overall, with the amazing background blur and low light performance it has suited me well!!

I currently have the kit lens and 70-300mm lens f4.5 and they both do ok in low light with editing but since purchasing this lens it makes my camera do alot better in low light situations and i can capture action without motion blur.

good complement to your 18 to 55 mm lens. gives excellent bokeh effects and works well in low light conditions.

I bought this lens to take pictures of my wife. The lens captures amazing pictures especially Bokeh which I really love a lot. The zoom lens I had earlier has a minimum F number of 3.5 and does not help during night time shooting. But this has 1.8 and does an excellent job even in the night and is a must buy for everyone. I rarely use flash after I bought this lens.

A total must for any camera bag. Light, sharp, well built. Also the price makes it a no brainer!
