I’ve had this lens for a while so it’s about time I gave it a review. I’m loving it. I shoot mostly child and family portraits so it’s a great lens to capture the kind of portraits most parents. Not difficult to learn how to use. I would definitely recommend for other hobbyists interested in getting the hang of photography.

If for not looking to break the bank with a high quality lens, I believe this lens should be your next choice. The lens takes clean sharp photos.

Great lens to walk around with on your camera ... It's almost as easy as a point and shot ...lens gives you great lights and almost perfect pictures every time.

The lens creates a nice bokah, but struggles to focus on my D7000. Works best with a flash

Don’t let the hard plastic fool you, this is a quality lens and at just over $200 why wouldn’t you. Great for walk around and portraits.

Tried it but had to return it as it wasn't something special when compared by today's standards. Was great for its time a long while ago.

Probably the worst constructed lens I've purchased in a long time. It simply did not want to go onto the camera. I've got a D810 and have used numerous lenses on it; this one was tight from the moment I tried to put it on. Very disappoined in the build.

This is a great camera for a beginner.There is considerable amount of difference in photo quality when compared to a kit lens.

Must have 50mm lens for your kit. Takes excellent photos you won’t regret it.

A prime lens with fairly acceptable diaphragm values, good luminance, very soft in manual focus

Need this lens to have it handy for low light situations where a non fast zoom is not enough. As all Nikon lenses has excellent performace.

An great all around lens. Crisp portraits and fast shutter speed. Use on my Nikon D3200. Great first lens.
