I am not an expert and this is my first prime lens. I bought this lens for astrophotography and it performs excellently. It is has a solid feel and is well made. In my opinion, it would work well with all facets of photography. Well pleased.

We originally purchased this lens in manual focus only. Keep in mind we are near amateurs, and this was our first lens other than the kit lens. We took it back because it was too hard to use. This lens worked great and did what it was supposed to do.

Awesome lens, definitely recommend it. I'm a novice photographer but my portraits came out very nice.

Good product purchased at a resonable price form Best Buy. The benefit of this product was the ablity to access fast autofocusing along with an integrated lens coating to deliver.

The lens works exactly as advertised. Quick, sure shot of object with no out of focus (Set as auto) issues to speak of. I have only shot in AF so far. The only issue I am having with the lens is not being able to easily put onto the camera body. There is a little resistance there, but I only think that is due to the lens being new. I use a D3100 and so far, very happy.

Got to play with this lens at a local Bestbuy. and decided to take one home.. I can not say enough about this lens. It is supper clear and has a lot of uses from close up to landscape.

This is one of the sharpest lenses of nikon. it has a moderate focusing speed. durable and wheather and moisture ring at the mount.

I bought it for the bokeh effect and love it for the clarity and vividness of colors. I feel it gave my 5100 an upgrade. Great autofocus compatibility.
