Awesome lens for portrait and low light shooting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this lens to take pictures of my wife. The lens captures amazing pictures especially Bokeh which I really love a lot. The zoom lens I had earlier has a minimum F number of 3.5 and does not help during night time shooting. But this has 1.8 and does an excellent job even in the night and is a must buy for everyone. I rarely use flash after I bought this lens.

Great portrait lens for crop camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The plastic mount on my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8d lens got ruined from a small drop and the pins were out of line so by buying this 50mm f/1.8g lens I am very happy that it has a more sturdy metal mount, has an internal focusing motor, and has an edge as to how sharp it can focus when compared to the older d model. While it may be nice to be able to stop the lens down to f/22, I never really need to stop down below f/16. I'd much rather have the internal focusing motor. Not to mention it also has better bokeh! The aperature fins are more rounded.

great lens for a fixed focal length
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty handy lens to have. I love this lens and take it everywhere i go. I bought this just before going to hawaii and all the pics have come out very well. The low light camera pics are awesome. I wish i also had a 35mm lens of the same quality for the same price.

Love this lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated getting this lens despite reading the reviews. I have a 16-300mm lens which has the 50mm in it, so why buy another? But I bought it anyway and loved this lens from the first photo I took! The color and sharpness of my photos made me believe that I can really take some nice photos!! Love this lens. If anything happens to this lens, I will definitely buy another.

Excellent Lens!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously purchased a good "knock-off" of this lens. (Yongnuo 50mm f1.8) That other lens was good, but would over overexpose and have trouble locking in focus on the correct part of the image. So, I returned it and bought the Nikon lens. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The Nikon lens is great! Images are sharp, and have good color and proper exposure. (Using Nikon D3400 DSLR.) Definitely worth the additional money IF you plan on using the 50mm lens and not just the kit-lens that comes with the camera.

Best Nifty Fifty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned the full frame 50mm f/1.4 G and the Z 50mm f/1.8 S, and paid the 15% restocking fee to buy this lens. This is one of Nikons few real deals in quality lenses. Everyone should have this one. In my non-expert opinion, but based on my experience, there is no better 50mm lens for Nikon Cameras, including the new Z cameras, and certainly there are none that are a better value.
