Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Standard Lens, especially its superb image quality and pleasing bokeh effect. Many appreciate its low light performance, ease of use, and lightweight design, making it a great value for the price. Some users have noted occasional autofocus issues. Overall, the lens is well-regarded for its ability to create a shallow depth of field.

Great Prime Lens but....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was torn between the Nikkor 35mm and 50mm prime lenses and purchased each to try on my Nikon D3300. After a careful review of both lenes, I found the 35mm to be more suitable for my photographic needs. I returned the 50mm lens with no problem and explained to the customer service representative that Best Buy should have the camera display set up so that the consumer can test both the cameras and the lenes before purchase. The Nikon D3300 and Nikkor 50mm lens are both high quality. The display and selection process still needs tweaking.

Nifty 50 Back in my bag!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I passed my first DSLR, a Nikon D3200, on to my daughter and with it I gave her the first prime lens I ever bought: the 50 mm f/1.8G. I didn't realize how much I missed it, so I went ahead and bought this one to go with my Nikon D810.

Perfect for professional portraits!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a photographer and this lens is a perfect for portraits such as engagement photos, senior photos, family photos, etc. The low f-stop makes for great blurred backgrounds when needed. so far i am happy with this lens purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.still trying to get used to this 'fixed' lens. i bought it for the ease and comfort of having a single lens and not having to lug around my 18-105 mm heavier lens. so far i am happy with my purchase, but i need to keep practicing and getting used to the distance/depth factor. i brought it to vegas and had a hard time adjusting to the distance/depth factor at first. but then i was able to take some pictures once i stopped looking for the telephoto zoom lens! i plan to take this lens with me on vacation again soon so i can play around with it.
