Compact - Mighty - Great Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very sharp lens for detail shots or medium zoom. I keep one in my bag when I photograph real estate. So compact and light weight, yet excellent quality and a wide aperture for blurring backgrounds.

Great lens with affordable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally I got this lens last month after checking many reviews, and the lens does not give you any disappointment. I use this lens with my Nikon D5100 and it produces great pictures, and make the camera more light weight compared to the original lens. Love it!

Quality product for me
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a beginner in the full sense of the word and a bit of an admitted gear junkie. I like to have the tools on hand for when I am getting the hang of my hobbies. This seems like it will be well worth it as I progress. I hear as a constant refrain learn to use your camera in manual mode, so I am having fun muddling through. I have always wanted DSLR for years, now I am tapping into my desire and developing my skill. I heard about the 50mm prime lens as being the next lens to buy outside of your kit lens, so I tried to shortcut to the 50mm without learning to use the kit lenses. I mentioned that I was a bit of a gear junkie. Oh well, I guess I may revert back to the kit lenses so I will at least have zoom on hand until I get more comfortable. Pick one up when you are ready. I don't have any images to share, but I have seen images taken with a 50mm and I was convinced. Happy shooting!

Great Lens for Portraits and low light photography
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loves shooting portraits indoors then this is the lens for you. Weather you are a DX or FX , it is a great add-on lens . Apart from you normal zoom lens this is must have. Pros : Great low light Excellent Bokeh in portraits. Cons : not really except crop factor , if that is your concern go for 35mm

Very good lens for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good lens for the price. Images are very sharp and it performs well in low light. The only negative -- and it's minor -- is the manual focusing ring isn't as smooth as I'd like. But still easy to focus quickly. I don't use the auto focus much, but haven't had any issues with it.

Nikkor 50mm F/1.8 G -- great lens
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nikkor 50mm F/1.8 G lens is light, sharp and a great focal length for portraits in particular. Can't go wrong with the focusing speed and quality of pics from this lens particularly considering the price.

Fast lens, F1.8 very versatile!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens has many uses and is small so it's fun with quality. I wish other lenses came in at this price point, best of both worlds here. Great quality and very affordable. This is a great lens for both photos and video, it's also very quiet.

Best Prime Lens for beginners
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the cheapest Prime Lens available from Nikon. I am using it with Nikon D7100 and performance is really good. I have captured some good portraits and used it for indoor photography. It did take some time to get used to it as I have been using Zoom lens earlier.

Fast lense great price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Nikon fixed focal length 50mm lense lets in a lot of light! I bought it to use at indoor events where my 5.6 min aperture lense was making me use flash to get a good exposure. 1.8 aperture lets in a lot of light and is very clear! The price is actually great!!

Good entry level lens for astrophotography
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this lens to shoot astrophotography and it does the trick. Good quality prime lense.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent for those looking to invest in their first prime lenses. 1.8 appetite allows for creamy and smooth background blue while keeping your subject on sharp focus. Great for portraits. Would recommend to anyone interested in portrait photography.

Great lens!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had a great time experimenting with this lens, bought it a few months after getting a D750. Getting very good results in low light situations as I learn the camera and what it can do with this lens. The bokeh with this lens is great as well. Good price for a great lens.

Great portrait shot lens.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this lens is fantastic for portrait close up shots of one subject in low light due to its 1.8 aperture, with an awesome Bokeh effect for everything else. What ever you put your focus on will be crystal clear, just make sure you’re on your desired focus point, because if not, it will be out of focus, I don’t use this for group photos because of that. If you want a full body subject in the frame I use the 35mm prime. Both lenses are great, and fun to have and experiment with using manual settings. I would recommend this 50 mm lens for the price to have in your collection for specific types of shots and for expanding creativity, not as a general usage lens.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Small, light, fast, inexpensive, with excellent image quality. On APS-C the field of view is a bit too narrow for general use but excellent for close-ups. The f1.8 - f2.8 is very useful compared to the f2.8 plus lens I normally use especially in low light.

Great Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bear in mind that if your putting this lens on a crop sensor (like my D5600), it wont say 75mm but its actually 75mm and you are not getting a true nifty fifty lens. The image quality is very sharp. It produces amazing bokeh and vibrant colors.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just the lense I was looking for, if your looking for a lense that gives that blurr back ground this is the one. Also just takes beautiful pics all around. So in love with this lense I keep it on my camera all the time!!!

Very good Nikon lense
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use and well-made lense. I will usually buy Sigma or Tamoron lenses to save a little money, but this was on sale and in stock. Glad I bought it. Easy to focus and takes crystal clear pictures.
