This is a great lens, but it has one annoying tick: the focus and zoom rings are reversed.
If you've got the previous 70-200mm lens, this will drive you nuts for a while. If not, don't sweat the difference. Not sure why Nikon decided to flip things around.
fast focus, razor sharp and well balanced handling

Much sharper than the previous last 2 versions very well balanced easy to work with Colors are crisp and clean no major flaring when working in back light situations just over all a really great improvement

If you’re looking for the best telephoto lense for a full frame camera then look no further. Attached to my d850 it works perfectly. Definitely a bit heavier but worth the quality. Fast focus and crystal clear pictures.

Upside: Favorite lens….by far delivers my favorite boca look.
Downside: Since moving to VR2 I have had more issues in lens failure and repair. The old adage was that glass lasts forever but the mechanics of these Nikon lens 70-200 and 24-70 has been quite a bit of sending back for motor issues and ultimately just buying new copies (we shoot high volume and prefer to just replace)

For me it’s the best 70-200 f2.8 lens ever, super sharp and the image quality is superb,it’s a little pricy but it’s more than worth the money ,this is my main lens for almost any shoot

My go to lens for the most part. Great for outdoor and portraiture and other types of photography as well. Had a slight issue w/ the VR making clicking sounds a while back but it seems to have had fixed itself or something.

Waited a long time for Nikon to introduce this new version 70-200 F2.8 FL lens. It's not cheap a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, go for it!! Sharpness is fantastic, bokeh amazing! Truly worth every penny!!!

Yes it’s expensive but worth it. Auto focus is faster compared to my 300mm prime. Image quality is great. I prefer the zoom/focus position swap, easy for me to reach both while using tripod foot as support.

I am a wedding photographer and i use this lens a lot. Especially in the dark churches where flash is not allowed and i must stay far away. It is fast and amazing!!!

I thought the reviews might stand a chance of being overrated. They are not. From the get-go the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 FL is the finest lens I have ever mounted on a camera. I am so happy with my purchase.

I love this lens, it's very good in low light. But, it's heavy a lot of glass. The images are worth the extra weight. Yes, it cost more than the old version, and it's worth it. This is good gear.

Was a major Worth while purchase for my wife’s professional lens collection . She rented it all the time but realize the value was in owning it so we bought one .
