Excellent value for its price. Minimum focal length is a little too long and it does not give the confidence to shoot at its longest range without using a tripod.

This was a good lens, nothing to get to excited over...I needed something for birding and for some reason i thought this would give me the reach I needed...nope, not even close..I did return it for the 200-500 f5.6 nikkor lens which did give me the reach I need... If the focal length and apature works for you then get this lens it will not disappoint.

I love my 75-300 view lens. But it is alot heavier then the 55-200 lens and I miss the 55 view that the 200 lens had. Now I have to change lens to get the 55. Now I have to change the lens to the 18-55 lens. So if you really don't need the extra 100. I wouldn't get the 75-300 lens.

Very useful. Not great for night shooting ie football games. But still has a decent picture.

Bought it specifically for taking pictures of animals from a distance.

Lens is currently being used on a Nikon D7000. I have extensively used this lens over a 2 year period. I have taken and used this lens in Montana such as Glacier National Park, the Everglades in South Florida, etc. The lens performs perfectly. The lens is very easy to use and the auto focus is very quick. Note: The auto focus almost always finds the target, but when trying to photograph birds in flight at great distances, the lens needs a bit more focusing time. This is to be expected and when you finally download that particular picture, you will probably get rid of it as the distance of the bird is really far away. I would say that this is no fault of the lens. The quality of the lens in general is quite good. The lens has a nice solid feeling and does not weight your camera down. Some shots are softer than others but as a general rule this is a great lens to purchase. This lens is definitely a winner. Purchase it.

Like the lens ver much, but found that the f stops are such that shooting actions shots cause the shutter to slow. Depending on the sport, this might not be an issue. Other than that, I like it and recommend it.
