Dysfunctional Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this camera to take to England. I took 10 shots with it before the lens froze in the extended position. I was not able to get the lens to retract or to do anything with the camera. I took the camera back to the store and exchanged it for another one. I took the second camera out, took three shots, and the lens on that one froze. I returned it and went a different camera.

Phone takes better pictures
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suppose it would be ok but the power button is too close to the flash button so I kept shutting it off. Returned

Broke first time used 2000 miles from home.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Telescopic lens quit working first time used on vacation 2000 miles from home.An O ring came out where the lens goes in and out. Close up did not work. Took back to Best Buy when I returned home and they wanted to send to factory for repairs. I had purchased their extended warranty. They finally agreed to replace the camera. Have not used the replacement camera yet.

Takes poor images
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The control systems on reducing flare and light, shutter spread/aperture does not work on any setting. Scenes are always blown out outside. Black shade and high key over lit other areas. Not a good product and certainly Nikon chose to not place much common values a simple camer phone even offers on the fly. I can't Ben use it.

Poor Camera and expensive for the quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected a better quality camera and picture, not really easy to use, I use it daily in work, steady pictures should be clear but typically I have to take several pictures to get a decent shot. Overall it's not worth the money I paid for it. Quite expensive for the poor quality.

Great pics; disappointing WIFI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera takes very nice pictures and is easy to use. Feels very light and flimsy, but no problem so far. Hope we don't drop it. Disappointed in the WIFI. I thought it would connect online to upload photos or connect on my home wifi network to move pictures to my computer. Instead, the camera can only download to a mobile device with a special nikon wifi ap installed. The ap eats my phone battery as it constantly looks for the camera. I must disconnect my home wifi on my phone and then search for the wifi signal coming from the camera...which makes it pointless for the ap to continually seek the camera because I usually have my home wifi on and thereby the phone wifi off. Good news is that the download went fine. But I uninstalled the ap because of the battery drain. Will remove the memory card to move pictures to my computer next time. Nice camera, but don't pay more to get the WIFI. I think a camera with NFC would be bwtter.

Great camera, easy to use.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to Best Buy Tuesday, Sept. 1st to buy another Nikon Coolpix. Own a larger Coolpix P500. Recently dropped my smaller Coolpix S9050 & broke the lens. Definitely wanted another Nikon Coolpix as familiar with the menu & programs & wanted a light weight shoot & point for an upcoming vacation. The S7000 was exactly what I wanted. The salesman ordered it for me & said it should be in Saturday, Sept. 5th. Received e-mails stating in route & expected delivery Sept. 5th. Then today, Sept 5th rec'd an e-mail stating 1 to 2 week delay. Still went to Best Buy today, Sept 5th to get a refund so I could look elsewhere for the camera. A salesperson said my camera I ordered did come in this morning? E-mail not too accurate! Glad I was still able to pick up the Nikon Coolpix S7000 at Best Buy and I used it for several hours this afternoon and very pleased with it. Compact, light weight, awesome zoom with fast focus, clear pictures & great color. Battery charged fast. Should be perfect for my vacation. Haven't used the WI-FI function yet.

Big Bang Small Package
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can leave my favorite Canon SLR camera home when I travel. This camera offers amazing photos with an auto lens in a small package. Professional quality photos can be taken from a camera not much bigger than a credit card.

Generally good, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second one of these. The first I took back after two days because is did not focus smoothly, it kept hunting' and the "thru-the-lens" flash cast shadows on the photos when shooting close-up in low light. This second camera still has the same issues but to a lesser degree, enough less that I can tolerate it for the few occasions that they come up although at times I'm tempted tp take this one back and change to a Nikon S6900 and see if it works better for my purposes. It has the flash on the body and not through the lens. But they don't stock it in the local stores...

Great for photos. Not for video.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this camera has an awesome look and feel. The camera is very good at taking not only high quality photos but very fast ones. The down side of the camera is only that the video quality sucks, in my opinion. When recording a video, on screen it makes everything look like clay. Which was not what i was going for. When i played back the video on my laptop it also appeared to be like clay. And don't even thing about videoing in low light because it is just the worst. If your main reason is for photo taking by all means get this camera. If you video or even vlog this camera may not be for you.

Great Value for a point & shoot with a long zoom
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is a great value compared to most point and shoot cameras. It is very portable and has great features. Only issues I've had so far is the auto-zoom feature which seems to be slower than I'm used to. Also the knob for using various features can be hard to rotate. However, I do like the extra zoom capability.

Great little camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera quickly before a recent trip based on its review in Consumer Reports. It's replacing a Coolpix S550. It takes amazingly clear photos. Close ups almost never blur despite my sometimes shaky hand. I don't know if that's the camera or the memory card (SanDisk Pixtor) or both that allows it to be so fast. Its standard setting is much wider than the S550, which was a pleasant surprise and the zoom is easy to use. In fact I actually used the zoom for binoculars. It's light weight, easy to figure out , easy to charge the battery - I love it! I haven't tried the WiFi or movie features yet. Only problems -1) it makes a rather loud noise when I turn it on and again when I take a photo. This is particularly a problem/noticeable inside, eg a museum. 2) The small "door" that covers the socket for the cable seems fragile. I'm quite careful with it when charging the camera.
