Great for a beginner

Good camera, as Nikon has always been

A couple of them go back to the Kodachrome days, although the lenses are still useable on this camera. All told, the D3400 with lenses is a great buy. The only problem I have with Nikon is their propensity for making everything, including batteries, proprietary, which precludes using other identically numbered batteries by other manufacturers. This is going a bit far, in my opinion. Otherwise, the camera would have gotten a 5 star rating.
