Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the camera's quality, ease of use, and affordable price. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity. While some found the size a bit large and auto focus speed could be improved, the positive feedback on image quality and user-friendliness outweighs these minor drawbacks. The additional lenses are a welcome feature for many users.

Great DSLR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up two days before Christmas. This is my first DSLR, every other camera has been of the point-and-shoot variety. My wife’s parents are in their 80’s, mine in their 70’s and our own kids are getting older. She wanted to preserve as many memories as we could. I started off just taking some pics around the house and they were nice but I quickly realized the pop up flash wasn’t going to cut it so I also bought the SB-500 flash. That took the camera from good to great. I watched some videos online and played around with the settings. I’m shooting everything in “P” mode with the adjustments. Christmas Day I took a lot of pictures and every single one was fantastic using the flash to bounce the light. We took a few group photos with a tripod and the self timer as well. The camera is easy to use even in the hands of a beginner. I can only imagine what else I could do with it once I learn more. If you’re on the fence, buy it, you won’t regret it.

Excellent Entry-Level DSLR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first DSLR camera ever. I've read tons of reviews for many different cameras from all types of brands and I could never decide. For some reason I decided to get the Nikon D3400, something told me it was the right choice and I couldn't be happier. It is an excellent machine for somebody with little to no experience. Easy to use, easy to understand, great results. I will definitely have fun for years until I decide to maybe upgrade.

Posted .The D3400 takes a Nikon EN-EL14a battery. The Nikon EN-EL14 can also be used in this camera. Both the EN-EL14a and the EN-EL14 are available for individual purchase.

Nice starting camera in the DSLR space
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good camera if you are starting out on a DSLR venture. Low cost so you dont need to spend a lot of money and realize that DSLRs are not for you. The camara is very user friendly. Do not expect the point and shoot type experience. You will need to switch lenses once in a while. With the new D3500 coming to the same price on a sale that may be a better choice.

What a Camera -- What a Deal!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best camera I've ever owned. I studied the user and reference manuals (available from Nikon on line) prior to buying the camera. So I knew it was what I wanted. I am an experienced amateur photographer. I love the controls. I do a lot of wildlife photography. I love the ability to use auto focus and switch to manual focus instantly. This is a great camera for the job. Lots of megapixels let you crop and still have lots of detail. The lenses are good and sharp too. 5 frame/second shooting ability is great. If you are looking for a great deal for a DSLR with a lens combo, you should seriously consider this one!

10/10
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera has been super easy to adapt to and has met all my expectations. It's lightweight, easy to store and seems to do well in Maine weather, including the cold. While it says "beginner", this will do good for just about everyone besides high-end professionals. I would definitely recommend this camera!
