Love this coffee system! Simple to use and always brews a great cup.

This coffee machine is not as functional as is it made out to be. Thought about returning it, but ended up keeping it. The glass coffee pot is very hard to clean. If coffee sits in there too long, it stains the bottom very easily (like with all coffee pots). I make sure to rinse it quickly after using it, but there will still be some stain build-up. Bought a special long-neck scrubber to clean it, which helps. You will not be able to get your hand all the way in there to clean it, which is also disappointing. Also, coffee measurement recommendations are way too strong, and the coffee tastes pretty bad that way. We decided to half all recommendations, and it is better. I miss making just two cups. The machine dictates how much you can make. I tried to use the amount of water and coffee grounds that I used in my old coffee maker, and the coffee machine said to add water before it finishes brewing. So now I have to make a minimum of at least half a coffee pot, which is a bit much for us (which really ends up being more than a half a pot of coffee). We are kind of wasting some coffee that way. It's not the ideal coffee machine for us, but it works. I would not recommend this product at all. It's way too expensive for what it does, even with the different size cup brewing features and cappuccino frother. We were disappointed a bit with the taste of the coffee. We expected a lot more out of this coffee machine for the price.

Make sure to use the specialty mode for brewing various forms of brew every morning. I have been using this mode and its special and really on point.

In a separate review under that product, I discussed why I returned the De'Longhi COM530M and purchased this machine. At this time, I'm giving the Ninja CM401 five stars. PROS: (1) Water tank and coffee holder can be loaded without pulling machine out from overhead cabinets. (2) Excellent programming - example: if you screw up and run out of coffee in the middle of a brew cycle, it will alert you, then wait for you to refill the tank, then restart where it left off. (3) Easy to program timer (4) Easy to understand controls (5) Comes with a gold filter but paper filters are good too (6) Alerts you when you close the manual "drip stop" and if you forget you have it closed then next time you make coffee, it will alert you. (7) You can make coffee direct into an insulated cup (the heat plate turns off unless you are making a carafe). (8) Frother works well and is easy to clean. (9) It makes a reasonable "fake" espresso. (10) Lots of features for the price. CONS: I honestly can't think of any at this time -- although I do see some complaints that the machine can "lose its mind" and not dispense the correct amount of water. We'll see......

Ordered as a christmas gift so havent used it yet, but my sister got one for her husband which i have used and its a fantastic coffee maker. Great functionality. Really like that you can make a pot or just a cup rather then only having the choice of one or the other. The milk steamer is a great addition. Ninja is always putting out great products and this is one that is worth the price.

I switched from a Keurig, wanting to get away from all the waste. It makes a decent cup of coffee, but the grounds get thru the filter. I do like the ice coffee it makes.
