Caught on fire. If we weren't present it could've been worse. Ended up getting a refund for store credit from our geek squad coverage awhile back. Will not be buying another one. I saw insignia pressure cookers also had a recall.

So far I'm glad I kept my 9-in-one ninja foodi.. The steam release vent is iffy, and I'm still trying to "steam bake" without the bottom of my cornbread burning, (which is never a problem in the oven!) since it uses less power.. I want to love it, but even at the sale price, I'm not sure this was worth it for me. I haven't given up yet.

Very bad design. Grease got on top of the inside of the machine and next time I used it, it created a lot of smoke because it burned all the grease. Very difficult to clean and take apart.

    Extremely Versatile beast combination appliance

Ninja pressure cookers and air fryer lids are known for their versatility and ease of use. This version builds on their previous devices by combining the lids into one, so that you no longer need to store and swap for switching from pressure cooking to air frying. This is a well-made beast of a unit. I like to prescribe to the Alton Brown school of thought that devices that are given dedicated counter space need to have more than one function, or they do not belong there. This 8qt pressure cooker/air fryer fits that bill. Partially because it's so large and heavy you won't want to put it anywhere else... but also it will simplify the cooking tasks for many busy families. The included baskets and accessories cover the gamut of all the cooking/frying/baking/pressure cooking scenarios you could imagine. The ability to toss them into the dishwasher is also a nod to busy families and the versatility of this appliance. The size of the unit does pay dividends in being able to prepare enough food for an entire family of 5 at once, which I appreciate. It feels well made like most Ninja kitchen appliances and I'm hoping this one lasts for quite some time. My only reasoning for dinging it from 5 stars to 4 is the sheer size and weight making it difficult to store, but man if you're air frying and pressure cooking for a crew, it's all worth it.

This pressure cooker sucks. No wonder why it went on massive sale. It’s clumsy. Very cumbersome to use. The lid opens on the side and take too much space. Will be returning this item.

I've want to really like this Ninja Foodi where it has everything in one lid which makes it super convenient but is honestly a pain to clean the inside of the lid after pressure cooking or after air frying certain foods. I can say that on a positive note the appliance works great and does what it says where you can air fry, pressure cook, slow cook, sear/sauté and more with it. The controls are super easy to use and make it easy to program so you can just set it and go. With the programming it certainly does some unique things with the steam/crisp and cook while crisping which is not something you can do with other machines and saves time by eliminating additional cook time/steps. For that, I would definitely say this machine excels in all of those areas and would be one I'd recommend for that reason only. The non-stick pan and rack is very easy to clean but the lid with the seal is a entirely different story because it's integrated and not removeable! In addition, there is a grill that I can't see how you can move/remove to clean the top thoroughly. Because of that and having used it for some time I can say that really prefer my old Foodi over this one because it was a bunch easier to clean so any time you saved cooking you'll lose in trying to clean it up (depending on what you cooked in it of course). In terms of how this machine looks and sits, it's HUGE and takes up a lot of space on my counter and because it sits high you have to watch where the steam releases as on my counter it shoots right up to the under cabinet lighting. I'd recommend it for it's unique time saving/cooking modes, but I don't recommend it you are looking for something that's always a cinch to clean or if you have low cabinets you may not be able to fit it under them on your countertop.

So I'm not the greatest when it comes to cooking so I'm always intrigued by anything that will help me out in the cooking department. I have your normal kitchen appliances however they're either for cooking fried food or freeze dried food. I was quite surprised at how versatile this machine is. You can cook, bake, crisp, steam, sous vide (not sure what this is) and other methods as well. I figured the easiest thing to try out first was chicken, right? I mean, how bad can you screw up chicken? I found a recipe online and gave it a shot. Initially, it took me a bit to get used to all the buttons, settings and what not since I've never had something like this before. One thing you'll need to pay attention to is the sliding mechanism on the lid. Unlike other sliders, this thing isn't meant to lock the lid down as you would normally expect it to. There are three positions on the slider so you'll need to pay attention to what it's set to prior to cooking. After finally selecting, what I thought, was the right settings, I turned on the machine and let it rip. Now, normally when I cook chicken, it's always burnt and almost like eating cardboard. The cooking this machine did actually made the chicken pretty soft and tasty. So the first run turned out well and I made some decent tasting chicken pasta. With numerous other methods of cooking with this machine, looks like I'll be busy trying out new recipes in the future. The machine itself is sorta big aat around 15" tall and 15" wide. It will take up some counterspace if you live in a smaller place like I do. That said, it'll probably be the only kitchen you'll need (aside from a microwave and toaster) in your kitchen. Fortunately, it comes with a mini cookbook to help you get started on your cooking adventures. Like other people during this pandenmic, I relied A LOT on fast food/delivery and really am looking to make a healthier change in my eating habits. While this machine may not be the solution, I think it will definitely help me getting to eat healither and more frugaly in the future.

    Great All-in-One Though Counter Hog

This Ninja Foodi is an all-in-one cooker device. A pressure cooker, air fryer, steamer, baker and more. The number of different features is great because this Foodi is also on the big and heavy side. With the space it takes up on your counter and the heft of the cooker, you're not going to want to move it around much. So, a potential great combo device for someone who regularly uses a pressure cooker and air fryer. A big part of the weight is the smart lid. This is not removable which also means that it's positioning needs to be someplace where you have decent clearance above it. My normal "working space" on my counter is actually too short for this. I can fit a blender and not worry too much because there's enough space to lift the cup off the blender base - so the base can stay in place while I clean things. But for this, just to use it required more space so for this review, I tested things out with this set up on my kitchen island. After a quick wash, did a test pressure cook, then tried out crisping some drumsticks and fries (well, fry shaped chunks of potato). One of the first things you notice in this process is that condensation drips from the top when opened. There's a small cup to catch it, but it's probably a good idea to do a quick wipe with the kitchen towel. When selecting the cooking type, you immediately notice the Foodi family interface, especially if you have a Foodi blender. After using the top slider to choose between pressure/steamcrips/airfry-stovetop, you then use the round knob to rotate selection between the different options under each of the three main modes. For pressure, there's only one option - pressure <cook>. Once things have started, you've got buttons to override the temperature and remaining time. The buttons have a nice tactile feel so you're not dealing with a capacitive touch. Anyone who has tried doing things on a touchscreen phone after washing dishes or while cooking will appreciate this subtle design choice from Ninja. The fries and chicken came out well. I actually ended up doing two chicken runs. On the first, I noticed that while it got crispy, because I left it in the Foodi for a bit after cooking, it seemed to have picked up some condensation getting a bit juicy. I actually like my chicken that way, but my first pass was a bit more than I'd expected. Knowing this, I made sure to remove the fries once the beeping indicated it was done and to cut down on the time I left chicken inside on the second run. I didn't exercise the other cooking modes but have no reason to think they couldn't prepare food as described. The wire stands can hook together allowing you to stage food on two levels, letting you take advantage of the height to cook more things at once. This is a great all-in-one machine. While I think I'd prefer something smaller in my kitchen, I could see it expanding the range of things one could cook tailgating (if you have an inverter) or better yet - out in a camper. My overall rating is 4-stars. This is good, seems to have all the claimed functionality and works great. There are little design touches that shows it's geared towards use in a kitchen, that the user interface was designed as well as the smart lid. I'm holding back the fifth star because while this is a great device, it can be a little much for most kitchens. And while air frying and insta-potting has certainly become a lot more popular in the past few years, I'm not quite sure I'm ready to dedicate that much kitchen space full-time to this one. Yes, you don't need to keep and store multiple lids for the different functions but I've got more non-counter space available than counter space so that wasn't a real plus for me. Also, the power cord is about average length. As long as you're on a typical kitchen counter, it will likely be in reach of an outlet. My island happens to have outlets on either side near the top (out of reach of little hands) so this worked out for me but if your placement is on an island, you will need to be strategic.
