Great gift
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this to my husband for his birthday and he absolutely loved it. One of the best gifts that I have given him. We have spent hours playing, laughing and reminiscing. I still own my original system, but this compact version is much more convenient with the games built it.

Great Blast From the Past
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little console provides great value for people who are looking to indulge in some nostalgia. My favorite game in the bundle is punch out, which I still can't beat. Price point is good. One draw back is that the controller cable is a little short and I wish that the system included Blades of Steel.

A must have, with some (solvable) problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolute must have, for retro and new gamers alike. Kids should totally play this system first before any of the current systems. Some problems: first, this set only comes with one controller, but extras can be purchased for $10, the second being that the controller wires are too short, which is solved by controller wire extensions or by purchasing wireless controllers. All in all a great collection of absolutely classic games.

Little inconvenience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Small package game should not mean short controller cord. Love the games that come with it but it's very inconvenient to have to play so close to the TV or have to buy an after-market wireless control. Making a court twice or maybe three times as long what alleviate this

Childhood revisited
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my kids who are 4 and 9. They love it. I love it. When I was playing it the first time my 4 years old looked at me and said “ mommy, it’s out turn now.” They have mastered almost all of the games. For Christmas they are getting the Super Nintendo classic.

It's the Nintendo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking at this then you have a good idea of what it is. So I will skip that and go straight into the things to be wary about. The cables are too short. Power, HDMI, controller, all needed to accommodate a world that has moved past wired systems. It didn't. Extension cables will be needed for the controllers. Well... Rather, controller for only one is included. Jerk move, Nintendo, especially since at the time of my purchase finding an additional controller was near impossible. Limited games. Granted, many of the games I wanted are there I'm still miffed that others aren't accessible in some way. If Nintendo has some access to their store like they do on the Switch for older games just for this system would be awesome. As it is, the games I'm not crazy about are ones I've never played which sort of makes up for the set number of games. I don't care for the interface. It's great a game can be paused and saved to come back to later but something about the menu screen seems clunky Burn in. I've not seen it yet but remember the games are designed in 4:3(?) aspect ratio leaving black bars on either side of the HDTV you'll hook it up to. If one spends the hours I did sitting in front of this console this could be a potential issue. I still have my original NES from decades ago. I have many of these games. Yet, it's the simplicity and all-inclusive style of this machine that made me decide to make the purchase. That alone could be worth the price. But having games I loved but didn't own plus some games I've never played, well, from a pure gamer's standpoint, the price is perfect.

Oh the LAG........
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Selection of games -excellent. Value for the dollar - excellent. The emulation is absolutely flawless. The bad: LAG!!!!! This makes playing games like punch-out and ninja gaiden or any timing based games impossible to beat. When I moved it to a gaming monitor it got noticeably better but I was still getting hit by guys that I have the patterns ABSOLUTELY MEMORIZED for. Not fun. Crazy, but I need a CRT tv to go with this and I'd be happy!

Pitch-perfect port of Classic games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo did an excellent job of bringing these classic games into modern times with these ports. The controller feels absolutely spot on, minus the tiny 3 ft cable. The game selection is excellent, only missing a few classics that i wish were there (Battletoads, Contra, TMNT).

Fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found this console to be great. The size is super small (it fits the palm of my hand), it looks very cute, and the hdmi cable makes the games look amazing. The games are fun to play and are challenging, especially if you're new to playing on an NES console. This was worth it!

A good mini console, but needs extension
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first of the mini consoles, and it's got a great interface, and some really nice games on it. That said, the cable run on the controller that comes with it is laughably short and really infuriating. There is no second controller either, and it's really lame to have to go seek those out by themselves. The SNES version is $20 more expensive, but it's a much more complete package for that $20 more.

Like Being a Kid Again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great console. It has a lot of the old favorites. This is even better than the original because now you can save your progress and play later. Now I can play the games that I played as a kid with my kids. You'll definitely want to get the controller cord extensions.

Must Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoy the product. I play this almost as much as my PS. I think the game selection is pretty broad which is good. Obviously people would want more games catered to their interest but I think there are enough games on here for everyone. My only negative comment is the short controller length. If you are interested in purchasing this, which all "old school" gamers should, just get the extension cord with it. Good Buy!

Classic video game collection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo brings us a mini console with 30 games from it's Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) era. Wonderfully emulated, this collection contains many time-honored games such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Double Dragon 2, Mega Man 2, Pac-man, Ninja Gaiden and Metroid. Most of them are from the platforming genre, but there are few that represent other genres such as racing, adventure, or hits from the arcades of old. I have a few gripes with the choices Nintendo made for this selection however. Castlevania 2 is overly hard (Castlevania 3 would have been a better choice). Super C is not as well known as it's predecessor, Contra. And some of the games, mostly the arcade ports will feel shallow in terms of gameplay compared even to games from the next era. I definitely know of titles that did not make this collection but should have. Sadly most of them are tied to a certain license or developer and therefore were unavailable or to costly to bring to this compilation. The actual hardware has more problems. The controller, while well built, has a very short cord attached to the console, so you have to play sitting very close to the console itself. The new ability to save anywhere anytime is tempered by the problem that you have to reach out and press a button on the console itself to make it work. And it only comes with one controller, a second will be hard to find in stores or online for the regular price of $9.99. Overall, it's a good mini console for those that want to do a bit of 8-bit NES gaming, but it does have a few problems that keep it from becoming the ultimate NES experience.

More Big Time Nostalgia in a Compact Package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Super NES version too, which is the same concept. A near carbon copy of the original NES, just smaller and with more modern hookups. Have to love having 30 games at your fingertips versus dealing with an original (if you have one still) or often finicky emulators.

The 80's Are Back!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the NES Classic Edition at Best Buy on launch day. Waited in line for hours and it was well worth it! The system includes 30 classic NES games and one controller. The only flaw is the short cord so you'll want to pick up an extension cord at Best Buy. Now you're playing with power!

Trip down memory lane.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So where to begin? Forget the woe is me I didn't get one; it's horrible (One star!) folks out there. Or any of the other nit picks. Nintendo has never been known to create more than just below what the demand is. This is a company that analyzed the failings of Atari quite well. That's why there aren't sixteen units on an end cap right now at Best Buy. That being said this is an amazing piece of nostalgia. I was amazingly lucky enough to purchase it Friday 11/11/16 at 12:20am. Don't even ask me how. I received it on 11/16/16 it was easy to plug and play. I did not let friends know I had gotten it and when a friend stopped by on 11/16 he goes what are you playing? That music brings me back. So yes for those of us men and women of a certain age that played the NES as our first or second system this is a must own. For everyone else for 60 bucks you cannot go wrong with the games offered. No less than thirty of them. The system will become common after Christmas. Just the same though good luck finding one before that!

Reminisce over you
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Boy does this take you back. Great games that take you right back to your childhood!! Only issue is the controller cords are way too short so you have to be right on top of the TV when playing. You can buy cordless or longer corded controllers...still worth it.

Classic NES, the Perfect Retro Gaming Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The classic NES is back again and better than ever! The setup is fast and easy, the games wonderfully emulated, and the retro gaming experience is out of this world! Best Buy did a fantastic job through the purchasing process along with a timely delivery and a package handled with the utmost care. The wait for this gem is well worth it! Guide your heroes as you jump and attack your way to victory in 30 classic games, some of which hold up remarkably well. Others have definitely collected some dust, but the charm of these 8-bit adventures (complete with authentic stuttering and lag) will surely bring a smile to your face. Whether you're a veteran or newbie, this is a piece of hardware you have to add to your gaming collection. Return to the glory days of 80s gaming consoles with this piece of video game history or experience it for the very first time with the NES Classic Edition! Thanks Nintendo and thanks Best Buy!
