disappointing you can’t also use cartridges
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this console game is super cool with an hdmi connection, it’s tiny, it’s cute, it works, all that. But many people who would want this thing also have cartidge games that can’t be used in this console. I also can’t understand why Nintendo didn’t make this thing so you could connect it to the internet and buy more games. What a wasted opportunity. I’m happy win this thing except for how limiting it is. It comes with a selection of the most popular titles and that’s all you get. I’ll play it for a while and get bored and never use it again. That’s kind of a bummer.

Great Retro console
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While not a perfect reproduction of the original NES experience on a modern television, it is the cheapest and best way to play NES today. With this mini-console gone are the days of blowing out and inserting cartridges. With it's modest collection of some of the most popular NES games this console is a great way to easily pickup and play these retro titles with friends and family.

Great Fun For A Retro System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system was easy to hook up & to use. Comes with lots of great old games. Kids think it is lots of fun to play the same games that Mom & Dad played years ago. It should come with 2 controllers.

Retro nostalgia at it's best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is without a doubt one of the best purchases I have made to take me back to my childhood. I still remember getting my first Nintendo when I was about 10 years old. Having this throwback device instantly transports me back to a time when the biggest stress was how I was going to save the princess from Bowser and his minions. A quick online search even tells you how you can update it with the entire catalog of retro games! Now we're talking!

Classic Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bough this system based on nostalgia. The iconic Nintendo Entertainment System that started the home game console market. The design is identical (albeit smaller) than the original. Includes a number of classic NES games, such as Mario and Zelda. I think the real value is that it has games that are somewhat difficult to find, such as Zelda 2. I think the downside is that some of the games are very pixelated. I know that was the standard of the time, but on a HDTV is a little more obvious. If you want a throwback to the 90's or are looking for a Nintendo game that isn't available, you might find what your looking for in this device. Otherwise, nostalgia has limits and can be very "blurry".

One of the lucky ones to have gotten this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very lucky to have purchased this online and I couldn't be happier with it. Best Buy even shipped it to my door within 35 hours of purchasing it online SWEET! My only rebutle about this product is the same as everyone else who owns it, THE CONTROLLER CABLE IS ONLY 3 FT LONG! Yes I know Nintendo has extension cables (but I still can't find one, all out of stock) but for $59.99 I can't hate to hard on that (if you paid msrp like me) sitting 3 ft from the tv playing Mario, Zelda and Metroid made my life rewind to 1987 in a heart beat. It is a must own if your a collector or just an adult that's a kid at heart that was an old school gamer (if you can get one) thank you Nintendo and of course Best Buy for having it in Stock when I checked...

Finally
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was finally able to purchase this instore when it was available the 29th of June. It wasn't on the shelf had to ask for it. My local BestBuy have them in stock here in Newnan, GA. I didn't realize until after I came home that it only comes with one controller, but no big deal. At least I have it, and I refuse to pay above retail price for this or anything else. So far have had no issues with it. Comes with 30 games pre loaded. Really takes me back.

Official Release Product Makes A Great System!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recommend this system because it is an official Licensed product from Nintendo. The quality of the system and the gameplay is high as any Nintendo product would be. It is not a third party system like what Sega has done in the past and the games are good titles. A must have for anybody who plays video games in general, young and old alike. You don't know where you are going if you don't know where you have been! I definitely Recommend.

Literally the coolest ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for a little bit of nostalgia, and it ended up being my son's favorite new toy. All the classic games- donkey Kong, pac man, Zelda, Super Mario (1, 2 and 3!) Galaga, Metroid, Castlevania, tecmo bowl and enough obscure games that will interest anyone that loves 8 bit gaming! The only con is that the controller cord is WAY TOO SHORT. The cord extensions are a must buy. Oh btw- old Nintendo games are WAY harder than you remember!

Fun, but has a few flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, the NES classic has introduce me to my new favorite game, Kirby. It has several games that are all unique and kept my family and I entertained for days. Now the flaws are as follows. It only comes with 1 controller (however if you have an older Wii classic controller it will work). Also the wire lengths are really weird, forcing us to play really close to the tv when this really should be wireless by now. This device looks like a shrunken NES but only in appearance as it does NOT play cartridges, kinda a bummer. Also the device itself feels a little cheap and empty, if that concerns you. Overall I recommend it if your looking to get away from fast paced modern gaming.

An excellent throwback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has all of the classic games you want. Only complaints are that it has a short controller cord and comes with only controller. It was hard to find a second controller, but I did eventually.

Finally got one!! Get one yourself!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how well made this console is. Getting to save games is great. No more starting over like the old days. Looks great next to my super nintendo mini. Going to keep buying these every year they come out. My only complaint is the short cables that are attached to the controllers. You can buy extensions but they should have made them longer. All in all the system is great to take with you on family vacations or spare system at grand parents

Great for the Classic Gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only have two negative things to say about this system. 1)The controller cord is only like a ft, ft and a half long. They sell extension cords for the controller, I highly recommend getting them. 2)In order to get back to the main screen, you have to hit the reset button on the NES. I feel like there should be a controller button combo for that. Other then that, great playing games from my childhood. Graphics are awesome, sound Is awesome.

Finally got one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so glad to see these go back on sale again and I was happy that I was able to snag one this time around. I am some what of a retro game collector so I already have most of the game on an original NES. This is a wonderful little collection to have in the palm of your hand and the HD really looks amazing on a big TV. Yes, a little bit different than the true experience but very crisp and clean. Just wish I can get a controller for it now.

The Retro Pie is a much better option!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this console and I actually actively searched for it since launch... Well, I managed to finally get one, when the stock showed up online for one of the nations largest electronics retailers so, I bought it. The first thing I noticed, is that the console is crazy small! However, it's still twice the size of my Raspberry Pie so, it's not unrealistically small. Yes the wires are stupid short and even the Wii Classic Conttoller isn't really any longer so, you'll need to buy the extenders or a wireless controller to make this work with a larger screen (Or you can sit right up on top of the screen, good luck with that). The graphics on the console are very good considering these games were 320x240 when they were first created. Pixel perfect on my 4K TV actually is impressively clean. I was fairly impressed with this aspect of the console and think Nintendo managed to bring the experience alive very well. So, what's wrong with the System and why am I only giving it between 2 and 3 stars? Well, for starters the console has input lag that is noticeable in some situations (It is not my TV, that is among the best on the market for Input lag). Second, what I'm finding is, there's a reason I didn't play 2/3rds of these games to begin with!!! The games just didn't appeal to me and by today's standards, they haven't aged well in terms of a quality game play experience. Sure, some of the games on the console take me back to my youth... Like, Punchout, but I was let down by the lack of Mike Tyson (They could have made this happen for their fans). Also, Tecmobowl isn't 100% compatible with the emulator either as sometimes plays that you picked should breakdown and they don't... Or, you try to block a field goal and you're there ahead of the kicker, but he still gets it off. Of all the games on the console, these are the games I find worth playing... Super Mario Bros Super Mario Bros 2 Super Mario Bros 3 Metroid Final Fantasy Zelda Zelda 2 Punch out Donkey Kong Castelvania Castlevania 2 Kung Fu Mega Man titles That's not really a huge list, and the games I find curiously absent are NES Pro Wrestling Tecmo Pro Wrestling NES ICE Hockey Paperboy Contra Baseball Stars Dragon Warrior 3 Ring King Seriously, they couldn't ditch Balloon Fight (I liked it better when it was called Joust), Dr Mario, or one of the other lesser known games for those they left off? With all that said, I understand that people have hacked the platform to make it run more games and even Genesis games... However, I'm struggling to see where this little console fits, the Retro Pie simply does more and does most of it 1000% better at a similar or lesser price (if all you can find are scalpers listings).

Great family fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this NES classic system. Small as to not take up too much space and love the nostalgia from my childhood. Wish there was a downloadable online setup for more games, but overall excellent

Back in time...to 1988!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! This is a must have for the Nintendo fan. Sure, hard core fans want the real thing, the real games, the booklets, etc. I do still have one, so I understand their point of view. However, no more blowing in the cartridge, flicking the power off and on...this is a simple set up, power on, game chosen and time for action! For the price, this is a great deal. Do not over pay online. Be patient as I was for a year, and I finally got one!

Mario and More!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Remember when we all wanted that famous Nintendo and all of those great games for Christmas? Well, like the main said, "I'm back." Nintendo has brought 30 of their best back in a smaller version with all the games built in. Even come with a wired controller. My only complaint. The cord is much to short. I bought two of the wireless controllers and it is great. They were always sold out and hard to find. There here and fun for everyone.
