Customers praise the NES Classic Edition's game selection, ease of use, small size, and the inclusion of HDMI for modern TVs. Positive comments also highlight the nostalgic appeal and affordable price. However, a common complaint centers on the short controller cord length. Overall, the system is seen as a fun and easy-to-use retro gaming experience.

GREAT IDEA NOT SO GOOD EXECUTION

The console looks like a mini version of the original but that is all! YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO PLAY ORIGINAL NES GAMES ON THIS CONSOLE! It looks like you can but that is not the case. You can play 30 classics already pre-loaded onto the console. You can save your progress for the first time which is cool. Also take advantage of the HDMI connection. The length of the controllers are very short so you will need to buy extenders or end up sitting very close to your TV. You are also unable to download any new games that Nintendo decides to add on at a later time via WiFi.

This system really takes me back to my childhood. I (or my friends) had many of these games growing up, and even though I have all of the modern gaming systems, there's still something special about going back and playing these old games again.
What strikes me in particular is how HARD these games were - 3 lives to win or start back and square one. Not like today's modern games where you have unlimited respawns. Definitely ups the challenge, but does create some frustration with the younger set.
Offers a nice mix of games that differ from those available on Switch Online (though the overlap does make these somewhat redundant so make sure you are really getting something new/unique here).

NES MINI

I have the NES. Make sure you buy the controller extension the one that comes in the box is not long. I actually purchased the wireless contoller (Mini Boss) from Game Stop. If you plan on buying this system and you see the accessories online buy then at that time. Stock is low every where. I have had my NES for about a week and I am loving it. The only cons that I can say is the wired controller is short. Also when you play a game example: Mario Brothers the system does not save the levels that you completed. If you completed world 6-2 and you don't have any lives, you will start completely over at World 1-1. If there is something I am doing wrong and the system can save the levels that I have completed please let me know.

I had the original with ROB the Robot back in 1985. This is the mini version with 30 games, including the 3 great original Super Mario Bros games. This system lets you save your game progress, the original SMB 3 you could not save which took hours to beat all at once. The controller is a replica except for the short cord, also the controller works with the Wii and Wii U.

$2 per game! What's not to love?

For those complaining that this console "only" has 30 games and are childishly slamming it with one star reviews, realize that it ends up at $2 per game, PLUS you get a console and controller to play it.

I don't have this system yet because of the dumb shortage from nintendo. But I know people who do have it and I think anyone who wants a blast from the past should get this awesome little system!!!! I have played the original before and had a great time!!!! But I think they should make accesories such as the zapper gun or rob, otherwise this system is awesome!!!!

Almost a perfect way to experience classic games

Surprisingly small device but very well-built. The controller is a perfect replication of the original and everything about it (especially the d-pad) feels wonderful. The emulation is mostly great, although there is some slight audio lag present. The colors look terrific, though. Biggest gripe is the controller cord length but a $10 extension cable fixes that.

Love the old Nintendo system. Easy to play the old classics on this great system. No confusing controllers like all of the newer systems and the price is right!

Pretty nice little device comes with some good games. You can install a hack and it will let you play all NES and SNES games as well as others since the box is just an emulator.
Kinda light weight for the size, would be better if they added some weight to it. The controller is nice and high quality.

My own kids played these games when they were little so got this console to entertain the grandkids when they come over. As others have already stated, the unit only comes with one controller plus the cable is very short. But an additional $20 for extension cables and extra controller solved the problem.

Good games for the Kiddos

The main issue that I have is that the controller cable are too short. Besides that it works really well. None of the games provided are violet per-say but some are spooky/scary according to my 3 year old. However games like excite-bike are very entertaining and easy to play for a young kid. I purchased the edge joystick but I was recalled due to it not working. If they ever come out with one that works, I would recommend that controller to younger kids. It's much easier to use for them due to the large buttons

A Very NES Time

Wow. The NES Classic Edition is an awesome call back to childhood. So many great titles, a clean interface, and the classic feel. Great. The cord could be a little longer, but the experience of being close to the TV is also from childhood. Get this item NES-tled in your TV/console stand.

This is a fun system. It has several great classics. Complaints are that there is only 1 controller and it's cord is WAY too short. I wish the unit had more games or the ability to add more yourself. All in all, I definitely recommend. Do yourself a favor and buy some wireless controllers. I bought SNES classic controllers that can be used on the NES and SNES classic units as well as the Wii or on a PC.

Great price and good selection of games. Since the 30 games are preloaded I believe they are going to give us an opportunity to purchase and download more games in the future. I hope to see NES provide games I miss such as Joust, Dig Dug, Alien Invasion, and Mrs. Pac Man.

The NES Classic is a great trip to the past and it is fun to play. The only recommendation I would make is that the cords that come with the unit are only 2.5 feet which make it very uncomfortable playing on a big screen tv. Other than that this is a great system.
