Customers are saying
Customers praise the NES Classic Edition's game selection, ease of use, small size, and the inclusion of HDMI for modern TVs. Positive comments also highlight the nostalgic appeal and affordable price. However, a common complaint centers on the short controller cord length. Overall, the system is seen as a fun and easy-to-use retro gaming experience.

A great retro system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I missed this the first time around, and was extatic that it was rereleased. Punch-out, Metroid, Zelda and Super Mario rounded out a great line up. It difficult is getting used to the sensitivity of the controller. It is much less sensitive than say the Xbox one, but is on par with the original. I really wish that there was another controller and the price raised $10-15. If you miss the old days of the new then this could be for you.

Fun with one setback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a cute, fun, nostalgic device, or even good for anyone who missed the NES/Famicon back in the day. It is held back by its extremely short controller cord, making an extension cord an almost mandatory purchase. Another option is to get a wireless controller, but that costs almost as much. Also, if you own a Nintendo Switch, many of these titles will be coming to the online service in September, making this hard to justify now.

A must have!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a must have. I waited quit a long time to finally get and it was worth it. A great flash back to some great games in their day!!! My son is also enjoying them as well!!! The only thing is buy the extension cable for the controller. Its barley 2 ft long. We got a 10ft.

Retrodiculously Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This honestly is my version of the fidget spinner! The NES mini is my stress reliever. Plus n play. No more blowing in game cartridges or banging the console ha! Only downside is the the short controller cable. I hate that you have to buy a darn extension for the controller.

Great way to show kids what games are
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for me it all started with the NES, now my and my kids play the classics on this NES and picked up an SNES classic too. Love that Nintendo did this, easy plug and play, runs off USB (power it by your tv, that's what we do) Classic games are so much fun.

Great, but limited product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An almost homerun concept from Nentendo. Like the retro styling, but they should have included the ability to purchase more games and charged a little more. Something to think about in the next version. Regarding Best Buy's delivery of these units however, I do have a complaint. Bought mine on Nov 11 after waiting in line for approx. an hour. Wanted one for my nephews, so want back to the store to wait in line from 6:30am to store opening at 8am this past Tuesday. When I arrived I was excited to find only 8-9 people in line and figured I had a chance. Then after ten minutes a random store employee, seemingly not in uniform, walked up and told us the vouchers were distributed at 6am. Yet no sign was posted outside the store to let additional customers know that no more vouchers where available, making possible for BB customers to lose a lot of valuable time for no reason. When I asked additional Store personnel why the vouchers were dispersed at 6am as opposed to store opening(as they were on 11/11) the employees stated that was the policy. I find it troubling that the store employee who notified us rather rudely that the vouchers were no more was also very keen on bragging that he had one of the vouchers distributed at 6am. Apparently it is ok for Store employees to have an inside line on product releases. Further confusing was the fact that I immediately headed to another store to find 50+ people in line waiting for store opening at 8am. Which leads me to believe that the fix was indeed in at the first store. If Best Buy cannot manage its policy for product releases from store to store consistently then maybe it should abandon the line-up process all together in favor of some type of raffle system. That way all of the customers would have an equal shot at the new hot product.

Blast from the past
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game console. All the games preinstalled, you can’t go wrong for the price. It brings back many good memories. I find graphics the same as original Nintendo which is awesome. Now my grandsons are having a blast with it as we did back in the day. If you can, get one!

A miniature NES, brings a lot of good memories.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The size of the system is the first thing that got my attention, and the games included are a fantasic way to remember good childhood memories, the only 2 things that needed to be adressed is the size of the cable in the remote, and the fact that a 2nd controller is a must.

Classic games, slightly improved
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for the 8 & 5 year olds to see what life was like “back in the day”, plus it’s fun for me. Really you need the controller extender unless you are playing in a vehicle or on a relatively small TV, otherwise you’ll be pretty close to the screen. Enjoying it!

So much Nostalgia!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've really enjoyed playing on this system. A few games I would've like to see on it, but you can't please everyone with that. I highly recommend getting the controller extension cords you can buy for about $10, the cord on the controller included is maybe a 2 foot long.

Keeps my husband entertained
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband used to love playing Galaga and when we found out it was included on this console I had to get it for him for Christmas. He loves it! Although, had I known he was going to hook it up to the bedroom tv I probably wouldn’t have got it! He plays for hours!

Just as I remembered
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on a whim for the kids because my better half did not like the idea of the kids getting hooked on gaming. She needn't worry because the kids haven't been too enamored with this. That is not a negative against the product but rather against this generation of children. I grew up on this, and I have to admit that I've rather enjoyed playing it!

Just like I’m 10 years old again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The NES classic is awesome, the games are just as I remember them. Nintendo did an awesome job with the emulation and the options it has are a nice touch. Only complaint like everyone else is the controller cable length. That’s easily fixed with a extension cable.

Childhood memories relived
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product because of my love for those classic games I played as a child. I have enjoyed playing these old games with my children and they have also enjoyed play time on the machine. The only downside is the length of the remote cables. They are only a couple feet long, so it makes it tough to play on a large tv. I ordered some cable extenders online and now I can play the games while sitting on the couch.

Great remake of an old classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system is exactly the way you would hope Nintendo to bring it back as. Everything is the same, except you can choose a different way to view the image on the screen. It has pixel perfect, and CR14 to view it in its original format with the lines. Only drawback is the cord for the controller; it is way to shirt. You also only get one controller and it's difficult right now to buy an extra one. Completely surprised at how many of the games I remembered!

Great deal for a trip down memory lane
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I was finally able to buy one of these, I've been having lots of fun playing many games I played as a kid. It's also a great way to introduce video games to younger kids because these games don't have the realistic hyper violence so many current games have. And you can't beat the price.

Really excellent system, but you need more to play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, if you’re looking at buying this, you probably played the original Nintendo as a kid or a teen and want to relive those games. And for that purpose, this game system works perfectly. All the Mario games are faithfully reproduced, and the controls work great. Now, we get to the problems. First, you’re provided with ONE controller. As we all know, if you’re gonna play Mario, you need two, and they are VERY hard to find at the store price of $10! But, if you can get past that you need to obtain a second controller, you then find that you need to purchase extension cords for the controllers, because they’re literally only 2 and a half feet long. I took out my old Nintendo system controller, and those controllers are 7 and a half feet. This alone is what made me remove 1 star from my review; Nintendo HAD to know that no one can sit 30 inches from their TV, which is where the vast majority of us will place the system. I removed a second star because really, you also need to first find, and then buy a second controller to play a lot of the games. Sure, you can play Zelda alone, but it’s going to get boring fast after that. And we won’t even mention that you can’t play Duck Hunt anymore... Now, the good. Once you have all the extras ($10 for a controller and $10-$15 for extensions), this system becomes a lot of fun to play. But, since we’ve played all these games before, you quickly tire of going through the levels in Mario, trying to get through Metroid levels over and over, and looking at 8 bit graphics on massive 60” flat screen TVs. I think if it was more plug and play from the box (the SNES Classic comes with 2 controllers, solving one of the biggest issues with this system), it would be worth 4 stars, but in the configuration it comes in, combined with the inevitable “I’m bored now” syndrome we all get, I can really only give it 3 out of 5. When you buy this, you want a blast from the past. But it can’t deliver that out of the box unless you get the extras I’ve mentioned (don’t even try third party controllers; the buttons lag and the games become unplayable), and that limits the appeal of making this $60 impulse purchase.
