Customers are saying

Customers praise the NES Classic Edition's game selection, ease of use, small size, and the inclusion of HDMI for modern TVs. Positive comments also highlight the nostalgic appeal and affordable price. However, a common complaint centers on the short controller cord length. Overall, the system is seen as a fun and easy-to-use retro gaming experience.

I like how the console is small and the original games are almost the same. The draw backs are that some levels in Mario, you can't go backwards. There is no way to save your stop point either. The cord is really really short! Other than that I am satisfied!!!

No need to explain the difficulties trying to score one of these without a pre-order. Got up early and stood in freezing rain and blowing winds and was the last person to get a ticket to get this. My dad went to great links to get me the origianl console in 1987. Nintendo has done this shortage thing even back then. We got the Control Deck set that had 2 controllers and Super Mario Bros. He got duckhunt but was unable to find the Zapper. We went every day after school to find one. It took weeks but we finally got one. Don't give up home trying to find the SNES classic and in 2018 the NES Classic when Nintendo relaunches it. This thing is a money maker. This should be a no brainer Nintendo. KEEP MAKING THESE THINGS NINTENDO AND PEOPLE WILL BUY THEM! Also SCALPERS suck and don't pay more then retail for these things.

The design is great and the controller feels just like the original. Yes, the cable is WAY too short and should've been longer like the SNES controller is. There is really no excuse for Nintendo to include such a short cable, but at least there is an extender you can buy. The games pre-loaded on it will bring hours and hours of fun for both old and young. If you are a bit tech-savy, then there is a method of adding more games on yourself. I've had so much fun playing these games with my son (3yo) and highly recommend this.

I can't express how happy I am with this product in just a few words. Having this system takes me back to when I got my first Nintendo entertainment system, back when life was much easier because I was a child. This tiny little system does everything it says and I love it for that, my one and only complaint is that the controller cords are very short, but again it reminds me of playing games as a child, sitting super close to to tv until my eyes melted. If your able to pick one of these up, do it! For $60 it's a steal.

How could you go wrong with the new classic. It's the size of a small book and hooks up in a min. Gaming in 3 mins. The best titles

A lot of folks have been reviewing this poorly due to the limited quantities. Bottom line is that the system works perfectly, and has great features. You can have up to 4 save points in any game, even if the game doesn't natively support save files. Definitely helps with longer games like Mario bros 3. Because the system uses cable standards of micro usb and hdmi, the system portability is great. Bring the NES and all of your games in the palm of your hand. Nintendo just needs to release a retro SNES now, and I can relive the best games of my childhood.

After spending a couple hours waiting in the cold and rain, lining up for a limited release of the NES Classic, and being one of the lucky few to snag one, playing it made me remember the good ol' days of console gaming. The 30 games included with the system bring back fond memories, and are a good variety to keep my interest far more than I ever expected. Controller cord aside (it can be longer) I can't find anything wrong with this little system. I really hope Nintendo brings out an SNES Classic later this year to accompany this one. Happy gaming!

I finally got one. I love the NES and remember the first time I ever got to play one. I still have my original but find that it can be a pain to connect to modern TVs and this uses HDMI. This Classic NES has a lot of great games, Legend of Zelda, Bubble Bobble, Excite Bike, Super Mario Bros. 1-3 and many more. The only down fall is that it came with only 1 controller, but a second controller only costs $10. Is great to revisit classic games with my kids and see their reactions to the awesome graphics.

Pros: Good game selection Solid construction and material quality Excellent retro aesthetic Cons: Cables aren't super long Only comed with one controller Isn't the SNES Classic Edition :P Overall: If you're interested in the NES and 8-bit, late 1980s gaming, don't wait until they stop making this; go ahead and buy it! But if you're looking for the most fun to be had in a small, retro, HDMI-enabled package, get the SNES Classic Edition - more controllers, arguably better games overall.

My dad introduced me to video games when I was 3 years old with the NES back in the early 90s and I've been a huge Nintendo fan ever since. Being able to get many of those same games in a small, convenient package that doesn't require any extra fuss is great. Though I have the knowhow to set up a Raspberry Pi or other similar system, there's just something very satisfying about a product you can simply plug and play. The games are a great mix, and the whole package looks very sleek.

Maybe I am only partially the target audience for this. I am not a gamer of any type. The main games I have ever played were on the original Atari or the NES. Well, this is smaller than the original and you need no cartridges. I will be honest. I only care about the Super Mario Bros game. And I got this because I knew I had a medical procedure coming up, and if I was going to have to spend time alone at home, I wanted this piece of nostalgia. I love it! Worth the purchase for nostalgia.

When this product was announced, I was sure to be getting it. Product has a great price tag. Love how they loaded 30 of some all time favorite games. Not all would be my choice but sure most everyone will play all of what has been provide. Was not happy boutique the small corded control that was provided with the system as it is not even close to functional. Now a days people have larger screen TV and it would not be effective if you have to sit extremely close to it while playing. It would be great if they would make wireless controllers that can connect. Also the power cord is a little on the short side as well. Over all, I love the concept and original controller feel as was in my childhood. The games bring me back and love the game play and clarity they have provided. Over all I give this a 4 out of 5 rating. Good work.

The games included are a an amazing throwback to classic gaming. There are only two downfalls that can be seen (no I won't say including Super C over classic Contra is a big issue) first is the issue with the cord. 2.5 feet is way too short while it is good as an attached wiimote accessory for the NES it's sad. The other issue is no home button. While some may see that addition as taking away from nostalgia if you placed it right it'd be ok. Getting up to hit the reset to change games is a pain overall it is an amazing system

I missed out on this the first time, not now. I noticed it available for purchase online and I bought it ASAP! I hook it up and I couldn't believe that I was able to play the games I played when I was a kid. The cord is short, but I have a long HDMI cable that allows me to sit it on the coffee table. I will probable buy an extender cord when I buy an addition controller. Overall this is an amazing console and I would recommend it to anyone wanted to relive some of their childhood.

This system takes me back to Christmas of 1988. So much fun playing all of the old games with my kids. This system and 30 games, if it came with a second controller, would have been well over $600 back then. My only complaints are that it comes with just one controller and how short the controller cords are. A second controller and cord extensions can be purchased for about $20 which is still a great deal. If you had one as a kid, then I would absolutely recommend buying one.

You want my review? It's amazing! I was instantly transported back to my childhood. I wanted to stay up till 3am eating chips and drinking soda and yelling at the tv when my guy dies. This little system has 30 of the best games ever...well not Kirby so much, but the other games are great. Cons: cord for the ONE controller is only 2 ft long. Way too short. It's a bit glitchy (color flicker) at times but not too much. Pros: it's a freaking mini NES with 29 awesome games packed inside it!! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

I had been considering going on ebay to get my old Nintendo back and buy a few games. Prices are crazy high then you have to worry about it working properly. Then you have to buy the games, and constantly blow on the connector port to get them to work half the time. Enter the NES Classic - $60 and you get 30 games (more than I would have bought) - some I knew, some I didn't. I get to explore games I never played/had, and rediscover some old classics. What more could you ask for?

My husband and I grew up with this game system (but with the original version) and we (more of I) love this!! I remember my mom always playing Dr Mario and guess who’s addicted to it now? Me!! Lol. My son love it too. He get to play all of my husband’s childhood video games. Heck, my husband still remember it like it was yesterday!! Definitely worth getting this system.. recommend getting the extension cords. We got them and another wireless controller for two players game.
