This works exactly as advertised, lets you use up to four Gamecube controllers with Smash Bros 4. You can use either original Gamecube controllers or the new controllers Nintendo is making for use with this device. Wavebirds (the wireless Gamecube controller) work in addition to regular wired ones. If you have the controllers already lying around it's worth it so you don't have to buy a bunch of extra controllers to play with friends. There's no noticeable lag or anything like that. The only drawback is that the controllers ONLY work with Smash Bros, but that's Nintendo's decision, it's not a problem with the device.

Despite the so called "confusion" not being able to find my adapter at the store that I had gone to, this is one freaking awesome device. I was able to pre-order it December 28th, 2014 and it got here on the first of January. I don't know if Best Buy will ever have more in, but I was one of the lucky 200 to get it :)

This product is perfect for Smash Bros Wii U. It's just not the same playing without gamecube controllers, and this adapter allows just that.

I absolutely love the gamecube adapter. It does everything required of it right with no input lag whatsoever. Perfect for smash!

Works great and you can use all your old game cube controllers

If you purchased Super Smash Bros. Wii U, this accessory is a must have. This adapter allows you to connect up to four Gamecube original controllers or the new Gamecube style controllers made specifically for the Wii U. If I were to pinpoint one criticism, I would say that I wish the cord for this adapter was a bit longer since the gamecube controllers were not wireless.

Great Product, but the Best Buy description is misleading. Nintendo has stated publicly that this adapter is solely for Smash Bros. No other Wii U game is compatible and as of this writing, Gamecube games are not available on the Virtual Console.

Playing Smash Bros. with a GameCube controller just feels natural. The adapter is well-built and works with any GameCube controller. The only downside is that this only works with Smash Bros. for Wii U. Hopefully, Nintendo will add support into other games/areas, such as allowing you to play Wii and Virtual Console games that originally allowed GameCube control.

Love using this to have the old gamecube controllers. The store sold out fast though so I regret not getting a second!

Perfect item does not lag buy a wavebird or use your old gamecube controllers!

I am very glad I got one of these before they sold out. Works great for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. I wish they would allow the adapter for other Wii U games, like Mario Kart 8.
