I highly recommend this along with an additional Joy-Con controller if you switch will often be used by to simultaneous players.

this item is a must have for power gamers that play a lot. My issue is that this device is almost the exact same unit that comes with your console! The only difference is that the one with your console is see-thru black/gray and it does not have a micro usb port for charging. I feel nintendo could have easily giving you this one instead of the unit that simply holds your joy-cons. I haven't really needed to use it though because the joy-cons have a good battery life and I charge them when I charge my switch.

We were running into issues when trying to recharge the Switch controllers, for some reason they were only recharging half the time. After swapping to the charging grip everything has worked much better. It should probably be part of the basic Switch starter box, but regardless it worked really well for us. Highly recommended.

Good feel to the touch and good grip. The material use on it is pretty good and it works well for playing games.

Bought this extra charging grip so friends and family can play games on the Switch. Excellent option for your Switch controllers.

I guess I have to agree with a lot of others that this should've been packed when you bought the actual system, but still a nice accessory to have none the less.

Purchased as a gift for grandchildren to play with their cousins in another state. Will see how that works on Christmas.

I bought this to play mario party I didn't not have the original switch at the time they were all sold out everywhere so I ended up getting a switch lite in the mean time till the og switch gets restocked

Love how you can charge it. I play a lot on my tv and I love using the bigger controller. This makes it easy and keep the controllers charged for when you have four controllers. You can charge two on the switch and two on this controller easy win

If you need something to charge your extra pair of Joy-Con, get this instead of one of those charging dock things. Not only do you have something that can charge them away from the system, but you also have a more traditional controller form factor available when needed. Comes with a USB-C cable for charging.

Nintendo made a lot of compromises for the unique features of the Switch. The grip morphs the JoyCons into a perfectly adequate controller that feels a little cramped in my large hands. It's not the best controller around but it gets the job done and morphing from a handheld into controllers has impressed everyone I've shown. I have not needed to use the charging grip, but I think that when more multiplayer games come out to drain multiple JoyCon sets at once, it will get used.

Keeps your spare controllers charging. Bought it to charge the my 3rd and 4th controllers, didn’t really need it if you only use the 2 that came with it

It is identical to the joycon grips packaged with the Nintendo Switch system but with charging functionality; that is the only difference I could find. At least i can play with my joy cons charging. I really wish that it already came packaged with the system, but that's just Nintendo being Nintendo.

This controller works great for being able to play in wired mode to charge joycon controllers. I also like the cool see thru color more than the original one that came with switch. Speaking of which... shame on nintendo. This controller is what should have come in the switch console package.

It is a useful accessory and does what is advertised, but really should have been included with the Switch console.

It's definitely better than the Joycon that comes with the Switch because this one actually charges the controllers whereas the Joycon that comes with the Switch is just a plastic shell with no charging capabilities.

This is a great grip! This should have come standard with the console. That aside, this allows you to play on your tv if your joycons are not charged. Can plug into any standard USB wall charger or via the USB port on your switch.

Good design, official Nintendo controller. Comes with a usb c charging cable which is great. A very good buy IMHO
