Got this along with another set of Joycons in order to ve able to charge both pairs at once, When games like Mario Kart and other big time 4 player ganes come out i could see myself using it mich more but you wont need one unless you intend to do that as the joy cons have very good battery life themselfs and charge when connected to the switch.

I love this rechargeable controller. Great Buy! Nice to use this instead of docking station.

The Joy-Con Charging Grip works as intended, but it essentially the same thing as the non charging grip that came with the Switch console and I feel like Nintendo should of included this with it. Regardless if you play a lot on TV I would recommend buying the Pro controller over this. This is a good option if you don't have the pro controller and you play with the Joy-Cons to keep your controller charged while you play.

Thischarging controller is excellent it comes in handy when you need to charge on a quick and not miss a thing from the games it keeps it charged it's so great

I got this during my "Switch Honeymoon" period where I was getting everything related to the Switch. I picked this up thinking that it would charge the Joy Cons while in the grip while playing but it only charges them while connected to USB C wire (which is included and actually great quality). Unless you are fine with charging while connected to a wire, I'd recommend getting the non-charging grip that comes with the system if you are looking for another grip to hold a second pair of Joy Cons.

Handles just like the original controller that comes with the switch. I prefer the full setup as opposed to breaking off the joy cons for two players. Additional joy cons sold separately.

This is the perfect replacement for the standard Joy-Con Grip that was included with the Switch. It provides the feel of the more traditional controllers as expected. If you're looking for a grip that charges your Joy-Cons at the same time this is it!

Then you should pick this up. It's a shame most nintendo hardware doesn't go on sale, but considering the cost and functionality, I would recommend you get this to charge an extra set of joy cons, and or to keep playing when your joycons are detached and running low on charge.

This includes a usb c charging cable. This item is well built and is designed to not scratch your joycon. It let's you use the joycon as a traditional controller, and has comfy handles. It also allows you to charge your joycons, unlike the included grip with the system.

As many folks online have already written, this really should have been included. However, it is still a good device. My Switch is mainly docked and it was annoying to have to meddle with the device to charge the controllers. To avoid this, this definitely fits the bill.

Straight-up: You really don't need this unless you just like how it looks or you do long travels. It keeps the Joy-Cons going for quite some time, but the Joy-Cons themselves already have a good battery life on them. If you're looking for another Joy-Con grip, but don't find yourself with dying Joy-Cons on the regular grip, I'd just go for the regular. Again, Its nice. It works, but its not that necessary...

Cheaper than the pro controller, basically accomplishes the same thing. Can't go wrong.

Works just as well as the one that came with our Switch, but also includes a charging port. Why wasn't this version the only one made and included with the console?! Shame on the double-dip Nintendo.

It's a nice addition to have in multiplayer so you don't have to stop and recharge the controllers you just plug the grip and power through, it really should have been the standard grip, while that is not the grips fault so it gets the 5 stars for doing what it's supposed to

I got these to play mario kart because of the drifting issue. It works well and the charging is a plus but still can't play mario kart without the drift occasionally messing up.

Good solution if you do not want to pay the price of the pro controller. But, be aware that it’s a little small to hold if you are an adult with average size hands. Good for kids, but if you’re older you may want to consider the pro controller if you will do extensive gaming on the switch.

This charging joy-con grip has definitely made a difference to my gaming experience. The Nintendo Switch controllers in general don't have much of a battery life, but this charging grip definitely helps me out; I can play and charge at the same time.

I always use official first party products and officially licensed products as a secondary. As a Nintendo product it’s expensive as are all accessories for this system. However it works perfectly.

This is a very useful accessory. It has no moving parts so nothing really to malfunction. It works as expected. Easy to grip and it transforms the joy-cons into a controller.
